can we all agree that when semi was updated to 1.9 and edventually removed shit went down the road? Can we please get 1.8 semi back and no /shop just same old semi with plots and stuff like that please @aXed make it happen. we lost players due to moving too fast into the future dont update too many things at once and possible op prison release will help out with players. also creative should be added back like it was dammit @Benzy @uryfgoifh @Swag_Fox @iverstaylot00 @Soyneccent
Well, I know for a fact semivanilla, a couple of the old factions resets and the old creative are stored (IE they were never truly lost, just lost to the public) Since there are a lot of new players here who don't know, or never experienced what semi was, I feel like I should describe it... after all, I was literally the most active person on it... Semi-vanilla was a lovely server (Literally the very first server I played, ever. Also, I never played another server until it's removal, so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me), which was originally intended to be a server with a player-based economy, and a kind community. It also had very few enabled commands, limited to these: /tpa & /tpahere /sethome & /home /spawn & /warp rules All the claiming commands (claiming via a golden shovel, etc) Party commands (/p, /party invite, etc) /adv (for advertising plots/shops) -One thing that was very entertaining was that you could "challenge" someone to a faction-like war, by both of you doing /claimexplosions enable. Then you could raid away with vanilla TnT mechanics. Also, PvP was enabled in the nether & end, and 5000 blocks away from spawn, so you could create extremely defensive bases (since tnt was naturally disabled, unless changed by the claim owner) Parties were also added, which allowed you to create little (or large, in my case) groups of friends. Now to the issue of it being "ruined" in the 1.9 update/reset If you've ever talked to me about what I look for in a server, you'll know I look for an active community, and a server with few plugins. That's why I loved semi vanilla. The addition of /shop completely changed the economy, but not necessarily for the worst... It certainly changed how people earned money Spawn plots were a lovely addition, because it promoted a player-based economy rather than a plugin-based one (chestshops were abundant in 1.8). Their removal in 1.9 made the server seem like it had more of an isolated playstyle I did however love the addition of /ah. It was great for selling high-value items (a player had 5 slots in ah at one time, no matter what rank they were). That way, people could only sell high-priority items in /ah. The bulk of a players items would be sold via /trade (or, if they would have been enabled, chestshops) So, if I had my way, I would bring back semi-vanilla (in 1.11.2), and I would have no /shop, chestshops would be enabled, and I would also remove /warp nether and /warp end. Also, each person would only have 5 slots in /ah. Claiming would be the same as normal, and spawn would have the 152 spawn plots like in 1.8, each being 12x12 in size. I would also bring back the old 1.8 PvP arena, except I would texture it a little bit (make the terrain have hills/valleys) One thing I'd like to mention is that we need to thank @CyrusTheVirus1, @xph11, and ofc @aXed for the server in the first place. They were both great head-admins, and aXed is the one who paid the bills <3
Survival is extremely p2w like fac, semi wasnt p2w, not that many people even had ranks, and this is to put the idea in their heads to add back semi. Though it did get removed for a reason.
