I've noticed for at least a couple of weeks that when I place a lot of blocks, I don't seem to get the levels that I should. So, today I decided to do some testing.

I did /is level before placing the blocks. Then I placed 2 stacks of lapis blocks and did /is level again. Finally, I placed 20 gold blocks and repeated /is level.

I got 0 points for those blocks.

Placing stone and wood gave me the expected levels from those blocks.

Edit: Just tested again, I'm also not getting points for emerald or diamond blocks. I do get points when my pumpkins and melons grow.

This is still happening, and seems to be contained to only my island. I've asked other players to test, and they get points for mineral blocks but I do not. I'm actually removing lapis blocks now and my level is going up while i remove them, because a few pumpkins are growing while I removed 1000 lapis blocks already.

I did a little more research. It seems like this problem happened when I upgraded my island to 300x300. I mined a lot of my old lapis blocks, and old iron, and I noticed that some of them didn’t remove any levels, and some did when I got to the older ones.

So it seems like when I mine the mineral blocks I placed when my island was only 125x125, those blocks had points assigned to them. Any minerals placed after I upgraded, no points were assigned.

Ice, Wood, stone, etc are all still working normally.

Last news I heard in this is that it was intentional behavior and wouldn’t be fixed. At any rate, I’ll just close this thread as it’s no longer needed.
