As i said before, when you cant do much to bring new players in, the best thing you can do is keep the current ones here. Name one thing that an admin can do to bring players in. Talk to youtubers? Already tried that. Get the old playerb ase back? Also tried that. We admins cant do much other than keep current players from leaving. If you can provide me a feasible way of bringing in new players in my current position id be more than glad to do it.
When pedro was the head admin of prison, he and the prison staff of that time developed a whole plan of making an rpg themed prison instead of the usual boring one and Iam not aware of any other server who currently has this, we even had the permission from aXed but things never reached to production level. I beleive if that plan is implemented now It'll help GC grow its playerbase.
I agree with you on this. I've truly noticed that the staff on factions have given it their all and are actively hosting events on there and doing their job well. After I've objectively observed this post the only thing I got from it is that I think I'm going insane. Like who am I kidding, no small change can pump up the playerbase. At this point I don't think I could suggest anything that's good because I've mainly ran out of ideas, and the ideas I've posted before that were bigger (as in bigger changes) would require a lot of work. I guess I keep posting suggestions expecting a different outcome, I keep telling myself that maybe if I post this or do this I can make a change. As I've said, I've spent some time thinking and I honestly think I'm going insane (Based on Einsteins definition: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results") I've even notice @aXed and other H-A adding some good features, I've noticed some good updates to the server, but for some reason the playercount still keeps dropping. What's also surprising me tho is that (based off of some research), minecrafts monthly playerbase has increased around ~20% since 2017 (Believe it was something from 70mil monthly users to 91 mil monthly users now in 2018). Now I truly don't know what could be the cause of the continuing downtrend, I mean some of these could, but I'm not sure: Downfall of cracked servers (due to how easy it is to obtain a premium account nowadays) Outdated games Lack of fresh minigames Lack of advertisement Now, if we would try to solve the first one, it would be a huge risk, since the majority of guildcrafts playerbase (maybe ~50%+) is cracked, so you risk losing a lot of members by going premium, and I don't think it's the risk worth trying. Outdated gamemodes could be updated, but it would take a ton of work. To create a new gamemode it would take a lot of time/effort, and nowadays a lot of people are unhappy and any time wasted is more players lost. Lack of fresh minigames could be solved by simply adding minigames, but the problem is, if you were to copy another servers minigames you would have to be the best cracked servers with those kinds of minigames to be able to attract players, and in order to create new and unique minigames (that could attract players) you need an experienced dev that would be willing to invest a lot of time in making one. The lack of advertisement could be fixed by investing more money into advertisement, but I've noticed that a lot of new players do join guildcraft, but the problem is a small number of them actually stays and plays. So at this point I have no idea, I'm hoping for something to change, but I feel powerless, I can't make an impact, and neither can mods/admins (just like you said). And it's truly difficult to watch something go down while you can't do anything about it. I may keep lying to myself and continue posting suggestions, but at the end, it won't matter what I do or don't do, it's about what the people who're higher ranks than both you and me do/don't do. PS to clarify, I will never give up on guildcraft, even if it means that I'll be the only player online, but I feel helpless.
What I can agree with is the 'downfall' of cracked servers. Yes, many failed cracked server owners have gone premium. Otherwise... my first post. "...to create new and unique minigames (that could attract players) you need an experienced dev that would be willing to invest a lot of time in making one." That's why there's now a marketplace to hire devs. It's dumb to hire 'free' devs or volunteer devs - they aren't 100% dedicated to the project as they're doing it for free, they can leave mid-project, their work is not consistent, and the overall quality of code drops. aXed needs to pay developers from Mc-Market or Spigot or else 'development' isn't going anywhere. There's plenty of people out there who have talent - they just require payment. And I'm 100% sure GC is capable, in terms of finances, to cover the costs of development. It just depends on what aXed thinks.
I agree with really most of the things in it. Just shush no touching KitPvp,it might be low on players now but surely it can be revived back. But for that will be needed a good amount of time honestly
I Agree with Raging about The "Adding New Gamemodes". But why can't we just have more? Like seriusly we can just leave Skygrid and kitpvp there, Implementing a New Gamemodes Such as Clash of clans like Farming Simulator or some other Crazy Shit should Be good xD
Very valid point regarding the "being behind" part. We cant even get upgraded to 1.13 fast enough and 1.14 has already had a snapshot released and 1.15 is coming up right behind it. Theres so much to do with the newly added features and we arent taking advantage of it
Well 1.13 does use different block values so it's quite hard to make the change (other servers aren't upgrading as well just because of the risk) For example, until 1.12 andesite is called STONE:5, now it's called ANDESITE, so you have to make all the changes in the code etc..). Also the 1.13 versions for the server jar files are extremely unstable so it's a slight risk to upgrade to 1.13, which can lead to world crashing and stuff. Otherwise.. yeah.
Why do i feel like these valuable constructive criticism posts doesn't get looked at? I really hope the owner is reading the forums, it might help him save the server.
We really need to start with an active community of staff, and that will help us a lot. I haven't been around but I agree with a lot of what Raging says. We need some fresh updates to factions and prison mainly - I've always seen a large amount of players here that makes us stand out a bit. We also don't have an ACTIVE youtuber that can pump out content, and I'm sure some anni videos can take off. Take a look at blazer107, he usually got atleast a 100 views per video and wasn't even uploading a bunch. Unfortunately I don't think any of this will be implemented
