Sup. Many ppl are calling me a crying, newbie, braindead kid that doesn't know "strategies" in games. Since nobody understands why am I so critical about Swappers, I will give you all the reasons I have: #1 Swapper is spammable - I think this is pretty straight forward. Whenever a Swapper is going to attack Nexuses, it's done fast. With or without invisibility, they'll reappear in your base a minute after you killed them. In other words, all Swapper has to do once he dies, just... Come back to your base in a matter of a minute or two and swap you again. I won't even talk about availability to have multiple swappers doing the same thing. #2 Swapper can only be countered with Swapper - Swapper is one of these kits that are so powerful, that the only way to "counter" one is to be one, which completely nullifies the purpose of other kits... because when an enemy is running Swapper, and you're not, you're at an automatic disadvantage, which is ALWAYS bad. There's one more kit causing this instance to happen... (*cough* scout *cough*). #3 Swapper invalidates the "Defense" playstyle - Defending is all about vigilance - listening for excessive noises, looking for suspicious particles, all that kind of stuff. But as a Defender, how are you supposed to predict that a Swapper is going to change your location, when you're bunkered near your Nexus. And I will snap the neck of a person who says "BuT DoRiAaAn, YoU'rE nOt SuPpOsEd tO bE StAnDiNg nExT tO NExUs?!". WHAT am I supposed to defend then if not an objective? All swapping spots, which there's hundreds of? I'd rather go attack then. #4 Swapper causes excessively quick games or stalemates - When there's not enough people defending, Swappers can just easily wipe the team out even at the very beginning of the 2nd phase, on the other hand if the only way of winning is to use diamond gear + gapple rush, swappers completely prevent this strategy by moving attackers backwards, which basically causes games to never end. #5 Swapper takes little effort - let me explain this with examples: A) Swapper vs Diamond/Iron Gappler - What each of these has to do to successfully attack nexuses: Diamond Gappler: -mine enough leaves for apples; -get enough gold for gapples; -manage to get diamonds/decent iron gear; -get close to enemy base without being spotted, or with your team supporting you. Swapper: -Go to enemy base; -Press M2 on a player standing closest to Nexus... That's it. I will albo mention how easy it is to nullify Diamond Gappler with Swapper, by teleporting him away from Nexus and wasting his time... B) Swapper vs Invisible non-Swapper: Invisible non-Swapper: -Get gold -Smelt gold -Buy ingredients -brew ingredients -Sneak into enemy base without being spotted Swapper: -Go close enough to enemy player you want to swap, without being spotted; -press M2 on your mouse. I think now you see the differences of efforts being exchanged here. In my opinion Diamond Gappler should have the largest chance of inflicting major damage to Nexuses, because he worked on making gear long and hard enough to deserve it, that is followed by Invisibility users, which still did something, followed by Swappers, which did almost nothing. At it's current state, I could consider Swapper as a crutch (Crutch = a playstyle with a direct upgrade that compensates the lack of effort/skill). And I will be saying that till it stops being so easy to abuse. For these who are wondering how could Swapper be justified, here's the steps that could be taken: 1)Make Defender's landmines do more damage (3x more damage), BUT normal damage, not TRUE damage - this way Defender would become a solid counter against Swappers and invisible players, but it would also greatly reduce his chances against geared foes, making Defender have it's actual strong purpose. This would also solve the problem of Defender's landmines being spammable, because if you rush in with multiple players with decent gear, landmines will do pretty much barely anything to them. 2)Limit the amount of blocks Swapper can phase through - Basically make him unable to swap a player from any possible area in range, and instead limit it to some speciffic spots. I'd suggest making it 2 blocks at first, and 4 blocks after the "Long Shot" upgrade. This one's however heavily biased around the map design, that's why I'd still recommend taking idea 1) into consideration. Hope you understand my way of seeing Swapper now. It's simply unfair to play against and makes other alternatives worthless.
swapper is 100% the best kit to defend and it needs nerf. with 3-5 swappers on a normal map and even with 1-2 on a few maps its impossible to mine a nexus with any armor and even with gapples. u will just get swapped outside every time u walk in. the nerf it needs should be only on the amount of block u can phase through.
