»Explanation regarding WilloQueen's claim

After a series of unfortunate and unnecessary events that took place in survival yesterday, I feel obliged to make this post, and I would be lying if I say I don't feel a little bit heartbroken after the way I was treated by CMConcepts and her relatives. I knew CMConcepts for over 4 years, since the time I had been admin on survival in 2015, and during the 6-7 months I had been staff, I helped her quite a few times and thought we had a good relationship. Before I get into our current issue, I have to explain a few things about survival rules.

First of all, rules are not laws. It is practically impossible to write minecraft rules that would incorporate every single case. The current rules are easily applicable to most common cases, they can be easily understood by both the player-base and our new staff members. However, once in a while, a special case occurs where the rule does not provide a suitable solution, hence an exception is made. This was the case in our current situation.

It is important to understand the reason why a certain rule exists before enforcing it.
As you already know, we have a 28days unclaim rule. This rule is there in order to help active players make better use of our limited map in survival, by simply freeing inactive players' lands that they don't use.
We also have another rule that disallows claiming land around another player's, such that the other player is prevented from expanding their claim.

Now, let's look into our situation from the beginning..

I had claimed a land on a huge mushroom island. My initial claim was small, and fairly distant from WilloQueen's claim. Over the weeks, I added mob-farms, I built a shop and kept on extending as I needed, and it eventually hit the border of Willo's claim. Her claim was empty, naturally generated land, and didn't have anything built on it. Here is a screenshot of her land before it was unclaimed:





This was the situation more than a month ago. I tried to get into contact with her but didn't succeed. I sent her a /mail and I explained I would appreciate it if she resized the claim or moved it elsewhere, and that I would help her claim a larger area on a better part of the island, and I proposed in-game money on top of that. No replies. So I decided to wait until 28days mark to get it unclaimed, but surprise: she briefly came online on 26th day, ignored my mail, and went offline for another 20+ days.

So, I called a player-admin to ask for help. I explained that I needed to extent my public mob-farms and my shop, that I tried to contact with her, and I said I was going to give her a better and larger place, should she become active.

Now, staff has 2 choices:

1- Keep the empty claim that hasn't been used for 45+ days, preventing an active player (with 17 days of playtime) from expanding.
2- Unclaim it now, and if she comes online, give her a better land of her choice on the same island(the island is huge spanning about 120k blocks), and return the building blocks, more than what she had in the first place.

Now, if you recall what I explained about the reasons behind claim rules, you should be able to tell option 2 is the correct choice here, and it is the choice that was taken.

Now, fast forward to yesterday, here is what happened when Willo came online.

If they actually listened to me, I was going to show them a land close to CMConcept's land, and the problem would be solved before it began. Instead cmc started to make a scene and threatened to chargeback.

Again, simply not true. I claimed the island so that random people teleporting to my shop don't ruin the land for mycelium. Here is a screenshot of those land before I claimed and fixed it myself.



I have to share something at this point. After I saw what randoms were doing to island, I went ahead and claimed as much as I could, and I fixed it, and I was thinking to myself "if the willo comes online she could take the land here, and it would be a good place to build with a nice view of the bay, instead of being a ruined mess. Let me also claim the land around CMConcept's to keep it safe too, as we know each other and if she comes and asks for it, I would simply give it to her." Welp. That dream went down the drain, hasn't it? It is also my biggest regret in this situation. I should've just left it unclaimed and let them deal with the mess.

I see that she also made a post where she keeps milking the loss of their baby for public support, and still claiming to have "mushroom huts" on the claim, which is, again, not true, as you can see from the screenshot, and as admins can check the logs for. She also misrepresents what I said about the issue and makes manipulative comments. I, instead, show the chat logs. She claims that I have claimed the whole island so no one else can use it. Again, not true, as I explained both in-game and here. Plus, what I built on my land are 1-) Public shop with extensive inventory and low prices (/pw MyShop), 2-) Public mob-farms that anyone is welcome to use(/pw MobFarm). Claiming that I don't want anyone to use them is plain absurd.

Elise seems to have commented on the other post. I know that she is very busy, and I can only assume she didn't have time to investigate the situation in-depth. I can only urge higher-staff to check the facts for themselves, and not buy into emotional black mailing, chargeback threats, manipulative propaganda and misrepresentation of facts. I would also like to remind everyone that this wouln't have become such a time-consuming problem to deal with, if certain people could be reasoned with, in the first place.

Now, I am going to abandon my claims on the other half of the island, and put a chest accessible from CMConcept's claim containing the handful of building materials they had and more, not because I have to but because I choose to. (Just because you were first to claim a small area in the middle, doesn't mean you own the entire 120.000 blocks continent).

 

You've got a lot of good points in that huge wall of text. Some perfectly valid. The problem is with your basic step one: "rules are not laws". Well, they're supposed to be. The 28 days to unclaim is supposed to be very strict. The "bitch claim rule" doesn't apply here; it's for claims made with the intent of blocking the other player, not for a pre-existing claim that you decided to build up against.

Thousands of players over dozens of resets have had the exact same problem as you had: another player's claim is in my way, and I want to build there. The solution for every single one of those players was to wait 28 days or build somewhere else. Somehow, the solution for just and only you was to get the land unclaimed against the rules. That's not OK. That started the whole thing, and all the things that came after it would not have happened if the admin did their job correctly.

Whatever you did with the land, which might be for the good of others, is irrelevant. Whatever was said afterward, is irrelevant as far as this problem goes (though if other rules are broken later they must be addressed separately as well; I see at least one other violation in the chat logs).

The attitude of "eh, rules, whatever" is exactly what leads to problems like this.

(Placing chest with building materials is the start to all building I think)

Or feel you had the right to tell her what land she could have or how many claim blocks she could use. Offering her a better piece of land as you stated. Who are you to decide what is best for others? If the land was better why did you not expand the other way?

Willo NEVER tried to claim the whole island, You admitted she had a small claim.
YOU are the one who felt you had the right & power to decide WHO gets what and where regarding an island found by someone else.
You also admitted to claiming and now releasing the other parts of the island not claimed by you making YOU the one who wanted it all not Willo.

I have to share something at this point. After I saw what randoms were doing to island, I went ahead and claimed as much as I could, and I fixed it, and I was thinking to myself "if the willo comes online she could take the land here, and it would be a good place to build with a nice view of the bay, instead of being a ruined mess. Let me also claim the land around CMConcept's to keep it safe too, as we know each other and if she comes and asks for it, I would simply give it to her." Welp. That dream went down the drain, hasn't it? It is also my biggest regret in this situation. I should've just left it unclaimed and let them deal with the mess.

We haven't done anything to her, you could've simply listened to what I said, and we wouldn't be in situation. I didn't even want to comment on the other topic she keeps bringing up at this point.

I see that she also made a post where she keeps milking the loss of their baby for public support, and still claiming to have "mushroom huts" on the claim, which is, again, not true, as you can see from the screenshot, and as admins can check the logs for. She also misrepresents what I said about the issue and makes manipulative comments. I, instead, show the chat logs. She claims that I have claimed the whole island so no one else can use it. Again, not true, as I explained both in-game and here. Plus, what I built on my land are 1-) Public shop with extensive inventory and low prices (/pw MyShop), 2-) Public mob-farms that anyone is welcome to use(/pw MobFarm). Claiming that I don't want anyone to use them is plain absurd.

Elise seems to have commented on the other post. I know that she is very busy, and I can only assume she didn't have time to investigate the situation in-depth. I can only urge higher-staff to check the facts for themselves, and not buy into emotional black mailing, chargeback threats, manipulative propaganda and misrepresentation of facts. I would also like to remind everyone that this wouln't have become such a time-consuming problem to deal with, if certain people could be reasoned with, in the first place.

Okay, now I see where you are coming from. You think that I was friends with the staff, you think that I pressured him to unclaim instead of talking to you. So, let me explain how the unclaim happened.

I said in public chat that I waited for 3 weeks for Willo's claim to be 28days off, but that she briefly came on 26th day and left. P-admin teleported to me, looked at her land, and simply unclaimed it. I didn't even ask for unclaim. I asked p-admin if he could claim land in someone else's name, and I said we should claim another part of the island in case she comes online and wants to play. P-admin said "i don't think they will". Despite that, I went to the other part of the island, fixed the holes people made for mycelium, and claimed it for willo, in case she came back. For the record, I am not even friends with this p-admin.

I also didn't know Willo was your IRL relative until the day she came online, petrole explained it to me later(you can ask him to verify). If I knew she was your relative, I would've contacted you as you said.

You threw false accusations at me both in public chat, and your own post. And you still keep putting words in my mouth that I have never said. You made me a public target, and you still continue to do so.
Like... look at this:

I have been saying from the beginning that she didn't have anything built, only 4 chests, 2 of which are empty, other 2 with building blocks in it. Anyone can literally scroll up and read it in the beginning of chat logs.
You have been saying that you built mushroom huts and she had kits and other stuff.

Maybe you misremember what you did with the claim, maybe you confuse it with another place, that would be understandable, but you still keep saying I lied when I have been saying the proven truth from the beginning..

No, I did everything I possibly can for her. I tried contacting her, I tried to get the admin to claim in her name, and when that didn't happen, I claimed land by myself, for her, and fixed it into a better place. I saved the handful of building materials she had and added extras from my own..

No, I didn't admit such a thing because I did not know. I found out about it after you started attacking me in chat.

I've disproved every false accusation you threw at me so far, but you just keep coming at me with new ones. I'm done with this topic. If you still think that the claim shouldn't have been abandoned, discuss it with the staff that unclaimed it and jacky/elise/axed. I didn't unclaim it (as I'm not an admin), I didn't even ask for unclaim, and I did everything I can in order to help you, in spite of the way you have been treating me. Leave me out of this now.
