In this thread I will be discussing various topics and trying to break them down into a simple group of concepts so that you, a participator in an online community, can understand what these things mean to you and everyone else around you.


Sexism

The world is filled with these different types of people called women and men (the two genders in case you couldn’t figure it out). Both are scary creatures of habit who each have their own preferences. It is important to remember that when you make contact with a person of the opposite gender that you do not go absolutely crazy over it. In the end every person who is reading this thread is human.

Boys:

You are a boy. Congratulations you have a penis (and if you do not you might want to see a doctor about it). Just because you are a boy does NOT mean you need to be doing any of the following:

1. Messaging any girl you can find online.
2. Trying to flirt with girls just because they have a pair of boobs and lack a penis.
3. Trying to show off in front of other people over an online game.

Just because you are a guy does not mean you should be e-humping the girls. If you go up to a girl in real life and ask her to show you her tits, she slaps you and/or calls the police. If you go to a party and spend ever hour acting like the dog from UP, yelling "Girl!" and following after them the second you see one, you're going to be known as "that creepy fucker" and will not be invited back to many parties. No girl is "asking for it" by having girl in her name, by having a feminine skin, or by being open with the fact that she is female. They are gamers just like you.

Girls:

You are a girl. Congratulations you don’t have a penis (once again if you do, might want to see a doctor about it). Just because you are a girl does NOT mean that you need to be doing any of the following on our server or anywhere on the internet:

1. “Hi I’m a girl” (this is literally the definition of someone seeking attention)
2. Trying to get as many people to notice you as possible
3. Trying to get as many guys on your contact list or friends list as possible

Just because you have more boys around you then girls to compete with, does NOT mean you should be e-whoring yourself out to see who can give you the most attention. If you need attention from boys to satisfy you then try your school.

To both genders:

Think of the internet as your normal school. Let’s be realistic here, you are not going to go up to the opposite gender and start shooting your mouth off. Just because you are hiding behind a computer screen does not mean you should start making other people or yourself uncomfortable.

Everyone who is reading this thread, or is a part of the Minecraft community is a gamer. Don’t be so stupid with things you say or are doing and just play the game. This is why you’re here in the first place

Death Threats/Encouragement of Suicide

When was the last time you walked up to someone and told him “Go kill yourself.” If you did this to a stranger, you are complete scum. Why the absolute **** are you telling someone to go end their life. I realize you may be frustrated, but under no circumstances is it ever okay to tell someone to kill themselves.

Oh, no, but its not your fault, of course. "He was bow spamming. He didn't say gg. He was laggy…" It's sickens me to see these used as reasoning for such actions. Accept that you can improve at the game, and say “good game” or “gg/gf”. Go watch any professional gaming scene, you will never see the players walk up to the other team and say something as stupid as “drink bleach”. NO they shake their opponent’s hand and then walk away with some dignity. Even with sports 100 times more violent than Minecraft PVP people pay respects to their opponent, no matter how hard they got beaten up.

Cheating

Welcome to the gaming realm, where everyone is cheating besides you. This seems to be the impression that many of you are under. You cannot blame ping, triggerbots, aimbots, and whatever other excuse you are going to use for your own failures. Some of the more childish ones try to make up for these failures by cheating themselves, because they can't stand losing. I couldn't stand losing either, when I was 8 years old. But then I grew up. There is NO reason to be cheating or trying to give yourself an unfair advantage when you are PLAYING A GAME which is supposed to be something you are enjoying. If you don’t enjoy playing games then why are you here? Literally scum if you are trying to cheat yourself into feeling good about yourself instead of just improving and having fun with the game and your current skill level.

You aren’t going to be cheating in a game of basketball/soccer/football in real life either. The person who has taken the time to practice and better themselves will win. Steroids are forbidden in professional sports because the idea of working hard and getting results is promoted. For a comparison to Minecraft, ask how much Lamce Armstrong (a cheating cyclist) enjoyed being caught. He cheated for a long period but eventually got caught (our anticheat and staff eventually catch most cheaters). He is now prohibited from ever cycling professionally again (you will be permanently banned). All his titles were taken away (all your ELO will be reset), and all his fellow sportman lost all respect (the community will lose all respect for you).

All of these ghost clients and hacked clients are literally the most pathetic thing in the world. You suck at a game, so you need to try and use a tool to make yourself appear half decent. Well congratulations to the all the players who are banned from GuildCraft, you have made a name for yourself as a NOOB. Instead of just sitting down and asking for advice on the forums on how to improve you have decided to install some tool to try and create an illusion of something you are not.

Play honest, have fun, and be fair with each other.

Trash Talking

Guess what? The person that is reading your message on a different screen is HUMAN. They have emotions. Why the hell should you be running your mouth off trying to make someone else feel bad. So why, because you are hiding behind a computer screen, should you be trying to belittle someone. As mentioned earlier in the thread, I dare you to walk up to someone else at school and say this to their face “You are a sack of shit who sucks at life and are more stupid than the fucking woman that gave birth to you”. You'll feel the consequences quicker than you can blink. Just because you are hiding behind a computer screen does not give you the right to be insulting other people. There are consequences to all of your actions in the world, whether they are behind a computer screen or in front of another person. Open up your mouth and say the wrong thing and you will lose a job. Think before you speak.

Dox

Doxing - Tracing somebody to gather and publish valuable information about them on the internet, usually against his will. You know what the amazing thing about the internet is? No one has to know shit about you. You could come from a poor family, be a great person at heart, not have a friend at your school because you just moved there, and still be accepted as good human being and have friends on the internet.

You should also damn well respect the other people around you who are not choosing to share their entire lives with you. You would not go up to your friend in school and ask him how much money he has to his name. You should keep your hands, and every bit of your online life to yourself except the parts that you want to share.

DDoS

DDoS - Distributed Denial of Service Attack. Most people don’t even know what this means, so congratulations you probably just learned something. DDoS'ing or DoS'ing an active player is comparable to throwing a trash bag over someone and blinding them from the world. You are literally taking away the right for them to see and act on their behalf without having more knowledge and information in front of them. Attacking someone’s router and taking away a paid service that they are utilizing for school, research, fun, or gaming. Why the actual **** do you think it is okay to take away someone’s right to use something they are paying for? This is NOT OKAY. I hope you'd need to answer this question to a judge in court.

SWAT

Swatting - Calling the police/federal level police and false reporting a bomb threat or something of the sort to get them to break into someone’s house.




Here is a video from about 5 years ago happening to him on a live stream. Guess what? The dip shit that called in that fake bomb threat is rotting in jail now. You want to do something illegal? You better be prepared to have someone breaking into your house and throwing you in jail for it (not the guy in the video, the one who reported the fake incident to the police).

Conclusion

The second you come on this server, you are also endowed with power. You are empowered to bring smiles to players faces - a little o/ hello, a small gg after a match is all it takes. Treat people online with the same respect/courtesy/attitude than if they are standing right in front of you. This is a gaming network. Not a dating network, not a comedy show, and not a gym where you are trying to show off.

It was a joke and I did it just because he acted like his PvP skills were superiour to mine.. I know I behave sometimes childish but I am making progress.
