    Can someone tell me when @aXed and all the Head-Admins are going to look at things such as experience, trust and maturity instead of playtime and history?

    Good question , these duds tryin to get people that played minecraft for a long time , just because they think they're good but in the end they are trash not saying that this staff is but this staff has to look at the things in this server way more carefully and with maturity

    Experience and Trust ------- Playtime and History

    I would assume that this was the case when they go through applicants as it is pretty much common sense. That being said there have been a few mods that I would have not thought would get approved based on track record with there engagement towards others and lack of patience.

    It should take a level of maturity to become staff and I do feel the application process is outdated along with some of the more social based rules.

    I don't know much about other server HA but I do trust Jacky and Dutch's judgement on that behalf. They seem to pick staff that are stricter than they are them selves.

    That's not what I meant, all I'm saying is that head-admins shouldn't be looking at history as much as they do at the moment. There's plenty of people out there with enough experience and maturity but they simply do not qualify cause of their past. I think that if those people are given a chance that it'll work out better than most people think. I know that the ones who are able to change this probably won't read this and if they do they'll simply just ignore it. But still, I wanted to say what I was thinking.

    Personally, I usually steer clear of evaluating a candidate purely off of playtime unless the person offers up other valuable skills. Additionally, I think most of my staff know I don’t really view history as an important element in a promotion.

    Usually, I highly value skills, drive, and initiative over anything else a candidate can offer. That’s why we have lots of admins and sometimes helpers and mods that host events independently. Sometimes perms can be limited for staff, so I highly value thinking outside the box as well.

    If a candidate has no drive or specialized skills, I don’t usually give them much consideration.

    One day, I won’t be here. I hope when that day comes, I’ve left people with critical thinking skills and a sense of independence so that when this day does come, our team is just as capable as before my departure.

    Lastly, I also value trust most of all. Usually, candidates that I am taking into consideration for a promotion are people I myself trust.

    Let’s just say Factions has different standards than the other staff teams. ;) I don’t view experience as an important factor, because everyone starts from somewhere. Additionally, I do view maturity as important, but if the person offers up drive and initiative then I usually only take this into minor consideration. The way I see it, being staff is more than just muting or banning, that’s just silly. It’s about more than just that.

    I mean I know this is an exaggeration but your not going to become a police officer if you have been to prison.

    If you have 50 mutes and a few bans then why should you be a staff member. However, with something like this I do understand people grow up and mature. If you have had a ban or several mutes a few years back and that is whats hindering your application then yes I agree it should be taken into consideration that it was a long time ago and things have changed.

    I don't know you so I cant judge but based on recent events you definitely got...well had staff that think outside of the box.

    Yeah, unfortunately.

    In an effort for targeted revenge, one of our old staff targeted one of our current staff members and winded up hurting a lot more people than they bargained for. Including people who only ever wanted the best for them (like myself).

    They thought outside the box, I’ll give them that much.

    Eh shit happens, can't predict everything. Its how its dealt with rather the action that will define the servers tolerance to it all. If it stays all cloak and dagger/ internal people will start asking questions like the above. Best let every one know on official channels than sit on it.

    I understand where ur coming from here but let's be honest here, We all look at history just as much as anything else. I'm not saying that it is bad I'm just saying that you have to cut people some slack when it comes to their history. I see a lot of people with potential of becoming a good staff member (If promoted) I'm talking about tomatonator and myself here (a lot of other people as well). We both got demoted for being staff on another server and when we tried to apply again we got denied cause of that. All I'm saying is that you guys should look at what went good and all the other positive things as much as you look at the negative things. I also find it interesting that whenever you get denied there is no specified reason for it.

    I know what ur trying to say but I'm talking about someone's past, I understand that they can't get staff if they recently got muted for racism for example.

    Well yeah, I was wanting to see if you two had the drive and motivation to apply again in the future. The server thing was only part of it. It seemed apparent to me that there was little drive present. Try hosting some events when Factions come up, we can arrange something. Or even better, find a unique way to display your motivation. When I was mod I made a staff mod. Maybe you can find something to do to make your mark?
