It gives me vibes from World of WarCraft alongside it but I just don't know - it seems really interesting though.

minecraft and skyrim combined. hypixel does just make minecraft versions of popular games tho

 

This is offtopic, posting about stuff such as Hytale is allowed. Also, there is no way this can "steal" players from us as it is completely 2 different things, and Hytale is not a server, it's a video game. Lastly, I'd like you to stop this attitude towards others, you don't have to go all out against a person just because he posted something that isn't GuildCraft related, this is what "OffTopic" is for: GuildCraft and Non-GuildCraft related stuff.

 

Assuming that this is going to be bigger than Minecraft is way too optimistic. Minecraft has been pumping out updates like crazy recently: they finally did stuff underwater, they added new biomes, new mobs and animals, villages are no longer going to be boring, etc. Turtles were added! Fun fact: they swim around the world, but always go back to where they spawned to lay their eggs.

Also the fact that data packs allow you to overwrite game content like enchantments, achievements, the way the game functions, naturally occurring buildings and structures, crafting recipes, basically everything that you can do in-game. All without having to add a mod or having to change the code of the game.

My prediction is that it's gonna be fun for the first month or two, but only for those who have played Minecraft a long time (I guarantee you kids won't care about the aesthetic of the game or the fact that it might be better, they still are going to want Minecraft). Then after the first few months, most of the playerbase dies down until an update comes along. After a couple updates the game becomes subscription-based, like World of Warcraft (you pay once per month to play the game).

Then the playerbase dies down and the whole game/project is abandoned in a couple years.

 

this is guildcraft, toxicity is allowed, id like you to stop telling him what to do as he is voicing his opinion. you dont have to go all out because he doesnt like Hytale. his negativity toward a game developed by hypixel is justified since it could very well steal players from gc seeing as hytales target audience is minecraft players.

Yes, minecraft might give us constant updates but its always updates related to single-player, most of the community plays multiplayer and there hasnt been many multiplayer updates these last couple of years. Hytale is focusing on not only give their own singleplayer content but they are also gonna help in making multiplayer better than minecraft so it wont die out it only "a month or two"
