I understand at first appearance this suggestion looks mental (I would consider myself mental if I suggested this 2 or 3 years ago) but please hear me out first then make an assessment. Also I know the thread is long, please try to get through it all to completely understand my argument and if you agree please vote in favour, Thank you :)

Guildcraft hasn't being doing brilliantly compared to back in the day when it had 10 times the amount of people coming onto the server but that doesn't stop us from trying to bring it back to the glory days. I believe Annihilation games can be immensely improved if we reduce the required amount of people to start an Anni game to be 4, or if that is too extreme then atleast 8. Id like to point out that this does not even have to be on all anni servers but 1 or maybe 2, depending if people also want to play old aswell as new maps in lower numbers.

How would this benefit the server as a whole?
    1. Less people required would mean more Anni games at most times (We could achieve a 24 hour period of anni games)
    - At the moment, people have memorised that Anni peaks at 13-15:00 (0 GMT) and dies roughly around 20:00 only to be restarted at 1:00 in the morning (where most Europeans are probably asleep so its too late). We could easily change this and therefore bring more people to Guildcraft not only from Europe but around the World as Anni games would always be on.

    2. Popularity of Anni may flush into other areas of Guildcraft - What I am Saying here is that people may hear or come to Guildcraft for Annihilation, but may end up playing more factions, survival, OP prison etc instead. It certainly happened to me, where I started out playing Anni, but also moved on to play Survival aswell, we just have to allow the opportunity.

    3. More people = More donations - More popularity means many things but I think we can all guess that the staff at Guildcraft do want money not only for themselves but to also maintain the server and with increased popularity, this could be possible

    4. Not a complicated fix- I'm no IT person for sure, however, I know for certain that changing the limit isn't exactly like creating a new server from scratch; if for whatever reason you see that my suggestion is ineffective, firstly its only for 1 or 2 servers so it isn't like you have to shut down Anni entirely and secondly, you could easily change it back.

    How it benefits the community?
    1. Less time wasted
    - As I am writing this, I funnily enough had to leave a server that required only 2 more people simply because I spent too long (30 minutes) on anni-4 when I could have done something else. If you get it into peoples heads that Anni is now open 24 hours, they will be attracted to it because they will know for certain that there is no risk of time wasting and waiting/begging others to come onto anni.

    2. Multiple games - Unfortunately, we no more have the luxury of being able to join other games once we lost (which is about 1/2 the people of the original game [atleast 2 teams defeated before a winning team is decided]). With this suggestion, many games can now start and so more people will join as a result because no time wasting occurs from waiting for people to stop farming/ finishing the other team.

    3. More games at all times means more development of players - The more you play, the more xp you get. You don't need a degree to know basic stuff such as that, if people have more xp then they can be able to buy other kits and abilities which means they will be more interested in playing Anni.

    Counter Arguments to Common Arguments:
1.People will just farm empty nexus'/teams if the limit is lowered:

The reason why I am suggesting this idea is to increase popularity; in the short term, yes people will farm empty nexus' unless of course it is advertised on GC that it the Anni player limit has been shortened, then people will know what times to come to play Anni as a result of this new change (Anni dies at the times I have stated above because of the fact that they have got into there heads that no game starts as a result of 1 or 2 people missing so they don't bother to turn up at all). In the long term, there would be no chance to farm because more people will come to play Anni games because they would know now that for certain a game is being played (just like I know for certain an Anni game will be on at midday on weekdays and weekends). Also just to clarify, people are capable of farming BECAUSE there is a limit so people know when Anni isn't popular/when a game isn't going to start, therefore less players which = more farming.

Im sorry this thread is so very long (I did try to keep it short but I get carried away), I would appreciate any comments, either for, against or improving my suggestion in any way and I thank you for reading. I will try to respond if you have any questions.

I know this argument has come up often (I also did this argument roughly 1 or 2 years ago to drop the limit to 30, for some reason it doesn't appear on my content) but personally I find it stupid for a limit to be there in the first place, and not just for Anni but for other games aswell, such as bedwars, eggwars skywars etc.

    Update (1)
So I have seen all your responses, mainly against my opinion which is quite alright, and I have a counter argument against the common argument in the comments below.

    2. Abuse of empty nexus'/ rage quit etc
Firstly if people rage when they get farmed then they wont be in anni in the first place as pretty much everyone gets farmed at least 10 times before they even get there second advanced kit (kind of like some crude initiation process lol). My idea isn't just to encourage small mini games, what I am saying is that if people see that the game is active at this time (and yes this is a theory, I'm not certain that this will work), then more people will come on at this time therefore more players. People do not come on because they know it is empty at this time but if we change their mindsets, they might just, and if I'm wrong, what harm is done? All you can do is change it back just as easily all I am saying is to at least test my theory.

I don't think this is a good idea as people just have to deal with the fact anni is dead at around 20:00 - 05:00 (GMT+0). Especially when people have their exams around this time you shouldn't expect many players. It is fairly obvious Guildcraft won't be as good as it used to be.

I agree with the idea that after your team dies you just have people going afk (making anni lose players for next lobby) or they stay and beg people to end.

I think that re-introducing the idea of having the needed cap of players decreased, during times when anni's interest gets lost, should be tried to get added back.

Just my personal opinion, don't hate :3

    Hey,

I know it is hard to start a game in some timezones, but having a 1v1v1v1 or even 1v1v1 is just completely unnecessary. Yes, we're getting low on the playerbase part, but it's just too much as that would be a tiny mini anni. Although everyday, I see them playing after some time when a game starts, which is good. This will keep the server growing and would probably attract more players. But then again, too small team size. I'm sorry but it's a no from me
