Boss Farming Boss picture: https://imgur.com/a/0b8B7yv Introduction: What is boss farming?: In annihilation, there will be 2 bosses (iron golems) that spawn vertically opposite each other and in between 2 teams in every game. Boss farming is to specifically aim to kill these bosses as much as possible in a single game. This is an alternative way to reap great rewards and tons of xp in a single game. Boss information: Both bosses will first spawn at the start of phase 2 every game. Upon killing a boss, they will take an approximate 10 minutes for it to respawn. Each boss have exactly 600 hearts and is immune to arrows, debuff, but not fire and suffocation. Bosses will deal roughly 1 heart to an iron player and 2.5 hearts to a leather player. Killing the boss rewards 100xp and 2 boss loot (without boosters) while an assist gives you 50xp and 1 boss loot. You have to be very close to where the boss died to receive the assist rewards. (Boosters do increase the amount of xp gained from bosses) Bosses have a sight range of about 8 blocks and will return to its spawnpoint if it exceeds approximately 30 blocks from its spawn location. You cannot modify the spawn location of the bosses Boss Tactic: The boss will first act like a normal aggresive iron golem that will attack you and occasionally spawn hordes of creepers above you. The boss also has the ability to teleport to you, spawn ice on top of water to maneuver through water, leap high into the air, and do a blast below it's feet that will knockback all nearby players. At 200hp, it will go into enrage mode, which uses it's abilities more frequently. In enraged mode, the boss gains a new ability that will levitate into the air and shoot lots of arrows in a spherical shape at players for a few seconds before dropping onto the ground. The boss is immune while doing this ability. Boss loot: You will receive any of the following: 16 diamonds Diamond helmet, diamond leggings and diamond sword Diamond chestplate, diamond boots and diamond sword 40 gold ingots 64 emeralds 32 iron ingots 64 enchanting bottles Warrior's set (Full iron set and tools with unbreaking 3 enchantment) Miner's set (Gold helmet with unbreaking 3 and iron tools) 1 piece of Baron's gear (More details in the next section) Sabotage pickaxe (Efficiency 4 gold pickaxe with other enchantments and adds 10 whole hearts when held) Ranger's gear (Full gold armor with protection 2 and unbreaking 10. The helmet and boots are op enchants that consists of depth strider 3, respiration 3 and more.) Baron's Gear Baron's gear is a very powerful set that can be used for endgame farming. Each armor piece has protection 3, projectile protection 2, knockback resist 2, and gives an additional 2 hearts per piece when equipped. The baron sword has sharpness 4 and fire aspect 2 while the bow consists of power 4, punch 1, and flame 1. How to boss farm: The recommended kits to use are chef, medic, or any other kit that provides lots of healing. Vampire does not work on the boss. Any form of debuff with kit abilities such as viper's poison will also not work. Never try to tank the bosses. They do insanely high damage and will kill you even if you have the best armor on. First example (Mountains): https://imgur.com/a/TRzj5az Second example (Flat lands): https://imgur.com/WSuUJMY There are other ways to create boss traps but these are just some examples. The first thing is to inspect the nearby terrain. The most important attribute is to find a mountain or a steep hill that you can cave-in. After mining out a cave, try to make sure that you are on a different leverage than the boss ; being 1+ blocks higher or lower than where the boss is. This makes it easier for you to hit the boss without it hitting back. Next, be sure to have a wall behind the boss so that the boss does not fly out of the trap when you are continuously hitting it. Additionally, you should also have space in your cave so that if the boss teleport to you, you will have room to escape. In the room that you are in, it should be 2 blocks high so that when the boss sends out creepers, they will always spawn on top of you and suffocate in the block above you. Furthermore, when the boss teleport to you, it will suffocate and take damage while the ability which shoots out arrows in enraged mode becomes useless. If there is no mountain and just flat lands like the map Outback, dig a hole in the ground and continue the process.
as far as your reach. The boss has only a slightly less range than you do. The golem's normal attack is same as vanilla minecraft golems. So just attack it like you are fighting a normal minecraft mob but with cautiousness.
I still have more life than you Sarcasm or not, could you give more explaination on how the boss can be any stronger. Not like you boss farm that much anyway
make the boss take no suffocation damage, make it so the boss stays in the boss area so you cant trap it, @Jonodonozym
On Ayesland, it's super easy to kill the bosses while on other maps, it's really hard such as Eyron (little space). Other than that, nice tutorial, I usually try to kill it till I get to 4 hearts then my friend/teammate goes in until they're low and we keep switching till it dies, it's much faster tbh, the boss is tricky to kill and if you're in a small area and it spawns in creepers and a ton of arrows shooting down at you, you're basically dead. Good tutorial for starters though
