Suggestion name : New Host or IP for Asia area

Suggestion details : Make a new way for asian people to get good ping,

What will happen when this suggestion gets added : we will regain players, get more pingers than laggers


P.S : don't write anything in the comments talking about my internet is bad, it is good and gets under 100 ping on most servers

No, it means the main server would be hosted in Europe. The proxy would decrease the ping on your connection (sort of) but the server would still have to connect to the European server (which would be about the same ping as your normal connection).

So basically, as aXed said in that post:

play.guildcraft.org Ping: 300ish ms
asia.guildcraft.org Ping: 20ish ms

300 ms (Data transfer between proxies) + 20 ms (your ping) = 320 ms actual delay between actions

A proxy sounds great on paper, but in reality it would actually make your connection about the same (if not somewhat more).

 

yeah proxy wont help too much.Its the same reason why VPNs are slow sometimes.If you really want better ping, u would need a separate dedicated server located in asia.
