With this new reset the hoppers were changed to move slower, they move 25(?) items per 3(?) seconds. This is fine to reduce lag and all. However, the chunk limit has also been changed into an "Island Limit". You can only place 30 Hoppers on your entire island, no matter what the size of your island is. Starter island has the same amount of hoppers as the biggest maxed out island of 500x500 blocks it seems. (correct me if I'm wrong) Now 30 hoppers seems like a lot, but it's actually not. If you have any decent sized cactus farm or spawner grinder it fills up those 30 hoppers connected to double-chests in no time. I'm all for nerving hoppers so the server doesn't lag as much, but can we please get the hopper & hopper limit changed somehow: Increase items moved, Increase hopper delay (items per "move" & time for next "move") Upgrade "Island limit" with "Island Size" upgrades Change "Island limit" back to "Chunk limit" Suggestions? Thanks for reading. Please vote in the poll so we can get opinions. If you have suggestions or ideas please comment
My first preference would be set hopper_minecart:false in clearlagg which would eliminate the need for tons of hoppers. But that would open a whole new thing for people to abuse so meh.
The things I could do with a hopper minecart... I wish they worked But you're completely right, the amount of abuse it opens up is too much compared to benefits
i would say increase the time it takes for a hopper to move a single item, yet increase the amount of items moved accordingly. and indeed 30 hopper limit for a single island is indeed ridiculous, it used to be 9 per chunk, 90 per island iirc, so atleast bring that back, and then increase hopper island limit as the island expands.
So here is what's going on, we get limited in hoppers. While admin/player-admins get a higher limit. This shows you can get different limits for ranks, so how about upping the hopper limit for island size upgrade and/or legacy-ranks.
Admins have bypass of worldguard and other permissions, one of many reasons they’re not supposed to play. P-Admins shouldn’t have those permission bypasses, and if they do it’s up to the head admin to adjust perms on his server.
@Bad7Leroy4Brown yeah, but the thing is that he is a player-admin, not a full-admin. Last reset when I was a player-admin myself, we couldn't override the hopper limit either. -Shadoe
Items moved = 32 and time per move = 8 seconds would be a massive improvement. Being 10 seconds, the hopper is still full when a furnace finished smelting an item. It makes smelting so slow that the fire can go out waiting to move an item. For gens, moving a half stack would be preferable to moving 25 items.
I wanna point out a quotient of 60 would be nice (I mean a number that when 60 is divided by it, it returns a whole number) for some larger timekeeping operations that I may or may not be using in skyblock rn for some massive clocks... doubt anyone else is doing something like this so this might be a me-problem. Also, don't furnaces smelt 1 item every 10 seconds, which should line up perfectly with a hopper? All my autosmelters (which by all I mean 2) work quite well with the current hoppers. A single hopper should be able to handle 25 furnaces, because hoppers transfer 2.5 blocks/sec on average, and furnaces smelt 0.1 items/sec, unless if I'm being an idiot and missing something important (which is very likely, currently been awake for 19 hours) Tbh, I think the current hopper situation is quite enjoyable. Very similar rates to original hoppers, but it moves in bulk. If it's changed to a number that doesn't multiply to 60 I'm gonna be sad
