Hello, This is another pretty important serious issue that occurs on gc quite often apart from the other one that I listed earlier, https://www.guildcraft.org/threads/replying-when-not-involved.64800/ Anyways the purpose of this thread is to lengthen a report's duration,or to make reports dealable permanently,no matter when they were submitted, because it's a report. On quite a lot of threads nowadays I see staff replying: "I'm sorry but this report won't be dealt with since it's older than 2 weeks." There's no actual common sense in this, for example (credits to @ironcreeper34111 in one of his older threads) If you murdered a person,2 weeks passed, and you didn't get caught does that mean you're ok and won't get punished? No. Also players actually do submit reports, and they become older than 2 weeks because some staff don't bother giving an eye on them, maybe because they're lazy,or maybe because it's a harder report that needs higher staff to be dealt with,or any possible option idk No I'm not saying staff do their job bad as they actually do deal with a lot of reports daily, but they should deal with all of them, because that's what's players do: Report. Why? To make the server better. Imagine if it was a really important report,on a member/staff member (doesn't matter,it just was really important),and no-one even bothers giving an eye,and after 2 weeks they just say the same thing that it's older than 2 weeks and they can't deal with it. How would the player feel? Not good I can tell you. So the overall purpose of this thread is to lengthen the duration of normal reports to 2 months, for normal offenses that occure often like spamming, flooding, caps, swearing sev 1/2 (maybe),accusing etc... (you know) and leave the really important reports on a permanent duration for example: really toxic/swearing sev 3,death threats, hacks, ddos's (even jokes),and obviously actual server attacks like ddos's and etc, things that could break the server. If you didn't get this I'll tell you one more time. Lengthen the validity of normal reports to 2 months,so let's say that after 2 months it's ok they won't get dealt with as players do forget about them, and make a permanent length for really important reports,so they can be dealt with anytime no matter when the report was submitted,as they are really important. Thanks for taking your time into reading this,I'm sure this suggestion will make it a lot more fair for the community and everyone,so everyone feels happy and better. Also for the main reason which is common sense. -Tiger.
You have a point... Reports validation lenght should be longer... 1 month should be the lenght of a report. But when it comes to Severity 3 and that kind of things, it should be permanent. I totally agree on this one, but 2 months is too much... If it was possible to get 1 month, it would be perfect. +1 ~Troz
Would you just have an eye to compare between server punishments of Guildcraft and other servers, like look how the other famous servers such as Mineplex or Hypixel punish the toxic, non-obedient community? They do not really mute or have hackers facing the consequences, for weeks. So if They could use such a system, why can't Guildcraft provide the same system for punishments? Although that Mineplex/Hypixel are both premium servers, but rules can't become that strict. Too strict, is never good. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 29, 2017, Original Post Date: Aug 29, 2017 --- But however, I doubt that Guildcraft's rules would change into of what we expect it to become.
I totally agree on this. Also, I've noticed staff members don't deal 1/6 with the reports, they either forget it or they just didn't want to deal with them because they are unsure for example. Lengthen the time to at least 1 month would be pretty handy, as it makes the overall report system better and more effective than ever before. +1 keep up the good suggestions!
