This design will produce 1932 blocks in roughly 15-20 minutes depending on the hopper clock Items you will need 1x lever 1x Comparator 5x water bucket 2x hopper 13x cobblestone 15x repeater 8x lava bucket 14x redstone torch 108x redstone dust 168 pistons 240 blocks of choice Step 1 find a place that that is 13 blocks wide that’s where the cobble will be laying on After you found your spot go down 4 block and out two Step 2. go up one block where the purple line is on the diagram and place block of choice making a c like shape this is where your lava will be placed later Step 3. go out one block to where the green is and place blocks on top like so making the same c shape remember the blue line is one block up and out from the orange step 4. place a line of pistons facing up against the blue line step 5. one block above the orange you will make another c shape but no bottom to it thats where your water will go. followed by a line same height as the green with cobble above the pistons step 6. place the water along the green line first then the lava on the blue if you feel unsure that you will end up with cobble in your water you may add another 13 blocks of cobblestone on the pistons for protection. step 7. underneath the lava you will make a double row line like so(yellow blocks) followed by the redstone dust and repeaters set to one tick and comparator step 8. place a redstone torch on the orange block in front of the repeater like so and run up Step 9 above the water line place a 11 high piston row like so Step 10. (grey blocks) place blocks on the back and top of the pistons like so and place the redstone on top to connect the top run 2 blocks(purple) like so and place down redstone dust last step from the cobble line back you may cover up with any block of choice make sure the lever is placed right above the redstone dust below followed by running two hoppers into each other with 5 random blocks inside the hopper
Essentially this design is not really good if you want to mine cobble fast. If i were to place hoppers in the last row and keep on mining straightfoward there would be more delay with the piston pushing the cobble rather than just building the simple design with 8 hoppers that can also spawn stone. Say if I were to use an Efficiency V Diamond pickaxe on the piston design eventually I would mine all the cobblestone at a much faster rate that the cobblestone spawning and I'd have to wait a moment for the cobbelstone to spawn again. Yes, the 8 hopper stone design only has 1 level of cobblestone to mine because there are hoppers on the bottom but if I were to mine 8 layers at a time, cobblestone would spawn at random places and i wouldnt be able to afk mine fast. Also, I believe that with multiple layers of cobblestone some of them might glitch through the blocks when the pistons push the cobblestone onto the wall and the blocks will fall on the floor preventing you from collecting all the cobblestone. In contrast, with the stone design you cant afk farm faster(even thought i dont think its allowed) and collecting the blocks would be lesss organized. This design also uses alot more Iron, redstone and takes up alot of space.(Well nowadays skyblock lets you collect minerals easily. Back then people could mainly get a few minerals from challenges and would need to spend money in the shop) Bigger is not always better than smaller. But, this is a good design if you want to make a self repairable wall against creepers and tnt. I always try to make designs that are smaller because smaller is better in all ways and can potentially spawn or kill faster than bigger designs whether its mob farms etc,
I just built it and guess what only 1 row of pistons r used idk how it works if u don't mind coming and helping me @WilyWaldo
