For those of you that don't know, in old Annihilation, there used to be a "Player NPC" that appears if you lose connection/disconnect from the game, it only has 30 seconds before it despawns, if it is killed before 30 seconds pass, the stuff you had will be dropped where the NPC spawned, but if it doesn't get killed, you will be teleported to your base with your stuff that you've had before you lost connection/disconnected.
This feature was added so that if you lost connection/disconnected, you don't lose your stuff unfairly, but it was removed because of void-logging.

What is void-logging?

Void-logging is when you logout while falling to the void, which other players do not expect(most of the time), resulting in bringing you back to your base safe from other players, which was the reason for staff members to remove the NPCs from annihilation.

How can the problem of void-logging be solved?

I have 3 possible solutions for this problem:

GuildCraft can make it so that if there are no blocks under you(not including air because it counts as a block), your NPC does not appear.

GuildCraft can select an area which only inside of it will appear NPCs when disconnected, so the non-selected area will not have NPCs in it.

Or GuildCraft can make it so that you log back where your NPC was left when disconnected.

If you have an even better solution for this, please let me know, I will make sure I add it to the "possible solutions" list, and please let me know your thoughts about this topic, I wanna know if it is just me who wants NPCs back.

I still remember that horrible time when my internet suddenly broke down for just 30 seconds, while I was about to farm an enemy base...

Agree a million, as I'm living in asia, my wifi cannot keep up with GuildCraft pings, so it might crash and always depending on the NPC to save me.

I agree with this suggestion so I will start making the documentation for Arjen so that he can create this. He's quite busy at this moment so don't expect this to be added within a few days this is most likely gonna take some weeks.

There is no need at all for the invincibility, I can still abuse with the 5 seconds of invincibility that I have, and I really can't see what's the point of having invincibility for the NPCs in the first place.

The point is that I have been into many MANY situations where I got lagged out to the lobby and 5 seconds is enough for me to come back and enjoy the game

say you are fighting and you are about to die. When you get hit for the first time you are in combat. If you logout while in combat you will die and lose your items. This combatlog will go away soon after you have stopped fighting or you die.

Adding #3 to Annihilation isn't a good idea, because i've already thought of a way to exploit/abuse this xD.

It has almost been a year now since I suggested this... and @aXed himself accepted this idea, why hasn't this been added yet?

I don't know if you(Anni Devs) changed your mind, but looking at the replies I can't find a single one that doesn't agree with this idea, I really hope that you just forgot about the idea and didn't actually reject it, because who doesn't want such an idea to be implemented?

I'm pretty sure the developers already thought of this idea. The only problem is probably because they don't know how to program it or it will take too long to figure out.

How do you know that they don't know how to program it? or are you just assuming they don't know?

Plus it has been almost a year now, they must have improved their programming skills throughout this period of time, i'm pretty sure they can do that now, if not before.
