Hey Everybody! So, I've been working on this story for some time now and I would like to share it with you. Feel free to criticize and give me any advice you have ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hypnotized “No way!” Hunter and Chase exclaimed in unison as they read the monthly events for May in the school bus. Hunter and Chase were in the 6th grade and lived in a small state named Smyrna. Every year these young boys awaited for the arrival of the Barlow's Great American Circus on May 18th. It was by far the most magnificent circus to visit Smyrna. Every year went smoothly, they got good grades, had fun with their sport activities, and were able to go but, this year, there was something in their way. Hunter and Chase looked closely at the flier hoping they were reading something wrong. Hunter read out loud, “May 18th – Football Match! Do not miss!” It couldn't be! May 18th was the day of the circus, and the boys couldn't miss it for the world! Chase and Hunter had to come up with a plan to be able to go to the circus without getting in trouble. Finally, Hunter had a brilliant idea! Maybe it wasn't the best of ways to get through a problem but, the boys were blinded by the image of the amazing circus. For many years, Hunter and Chase met at the Barlow's Great American Circus. They had made it a custom to go on every single old and new ride that came. As you might have guessed, this circus was something very dear to their hearts. Never before in their lives, had something or someone stopped them from going. Chase and Hunter were fairly behaved kids, but as all young children do at least once, they made mistakes that they would later regret. As the boys read the school flier their hearts sank. They loved football but at the same time, there was the circus. Without a doubt, Hunter whispered to Chase “We gotta find a way to go to that circus, Chase!” Chase asked, “But how are we gonna do that? We can't just tell the coach to cancel it for a circus now can we?” With a sigh Hunter responded, “No, we can't, but at least we can try something.” As the boys dropped off the school bus and made their way to Hunter's house, they thought about how they could avoid missing the circus. By the time they got to Hunter's room, both the boys had basically given up. Until, a light bulb of pure genius, at least that’s what the boys thought it was, popped up in Hunters mind. Frantically, he rummaged through his messy drawer, turning his room into a zoo. Chase was as curious as Curious George and kept asking Hunter, “What? What is it?! Do you have an idea?!” Hunter then jumped with joy as he held their long forgotten hypnotizing watch. Chase gasped with a bit of uncertainty. The first and thought to be last time the boys used this watch was to convince their math teacher into giving them no homework for a week. Long story short, that didn't turn out too well. Chase asked, “Umm..are you sure about this Hunter? Remember what happened last time?” Hunter reassured him, “Don't worry last time we were just fooling around, this time we're gonna be serious.” The rest of the day, the boys thought of the perfect plan to execute. vvvv Rest of Story
After school, Hunter and Chase sprinted to the football field where they were sure to find their coach, Mr. Ralph. It was finally time, the boys were filled with adrenaline. With the strange but intriguing watch in hand, Hunter walked up to Mr. Ralph. “Hey, Mr. Ralph!” Hunter beckoned to him as he was preparing to leave. “Yes, what is the matter Hunter and Chase?” replied Mr. Ralph a little surprised. Chase caught up to them and began explaining their coach about the watch, “Sup coach. You know, we realized how much care you put into making sure that we are good and how much you help us, so we got to thinking of a way to pay you back. So we decided to get you an awesome watch.” Mr. Ralph was shocked. Never before had he been praised for his actions. Hunter revealed the hypnotizing watch to him and explained what it could do. Hunter began, “We made sure to get you a super cool one. If you stare into it without blinking, you can actually catch a glimpse of a cool message!” Trusting the young boys, Mr. Ralph gazed into the funky looking watch. Little did he know, that his mind was soon to be controlled by his favorite students. Hunter and Chase were very nervous and not sure if their plan was going as wished. There was a brief moment of silence. Suddenly, Mr. Ralph began spinning in circles. He was delirious and began mumbling incoherent sentences. Chase knew they had to think quick and ordered him, “You will follow every command we say. Uh, you will cancel the game and all trace of it. Inform all the teachers, parents, students. Explain that there were some technical difficulties and the game will be postponed to um, June 3rd.”Mr. Ralph replied in a somewhat robotic tone, “Of course I will, is there anything else you would like me to do?” Hunter, acting foolish, blurted out, “Oh and tell our parents that we are the best students you've ever had! Tell them that we are really fast at running and catching the ball.”Chase rolled his eyes at Hunter but couldn't help but let out a giggle. Suddenly, Mr. Ralph fell to the ground, twitching a bit. Hunter and Chase were afraid they had done something wrong and accidentally cost a life. Chase lightly pressed his ear against their favorite teachers chest, realizing that what they did was wrong. He heard the sound of a heart beating. Thump..Thump..Thump. A flush of relief filled Chase's heart. He informed Hunter that their coach was alive. Finally, Mr. Ralph started mumbling again. That meant he was getting out of his trance. Chase and Hunter ran to Hunter's house before Mr. Ralph could interpret who was there and recall what had happened. Their innocent football coach was left on the warm grass contemplating why he was on the floor. Soon, the day of the circus arrived. Chase and Hunter were being driven by Hunter's mother to the circus and were very excited. As soon as they were admitted inside, they felt pure joy as they witnessed all the amazing acts being performed. From trapeze artist performing daring jumps, to lions waving to the audience. They had a blast and by the time they had to go, Hunter and Chaser were very exhausted. When the boys got home, Chase couldn't hold it in any longer. He confessed to Hunter, “You know, I feel really bad for what we did. Hypnotizing our favorite teacher just for a silly circus, that we get to go every year anyways, was not worth it. He almost died because of us!”Hunter sighed, “Yeah, I kinda feel that way too. I was hoping I wasn't the only one.”The boys sat in silence thinking about what they had done. Finally, Hunter spoke up, “Chase, we have to say sorry to Mr. Ralph. That's the only way we can take what we did back. We need to ask for his forgiveness.” Chase agreed but had a few doubts, “What if he doesn't believe us? What if we get in loads of trouble?” Hunter explained to him that it was worth trying. So the boys, yet again, made a plan but, this time no evil was fused in. They were going to tell Mr. Ralph the truth, only the truth, and nothing but the truth. After school the next day, Hunter and Chase knocked on the door of their football coach's small office. Mr. Ralph opened the door with a greeting smile, and asked what they needed. The boys glanced at each other. Hunter whispered to Chase, “Psst, Chase you tell him.” Chase nodded,” No! You tell him.” Hunter said, “Fine. Uh, Mr. Ralph, My friend wanted to tell you something.” Chase gave Hunter a nudge on the leg as Mr. Ralph welcomed them in his office and sat them down into comfy chairs. Chase began nervously, “Um, Mr. Ralph we wanted to apologize to you about what we did a few weeks ago.” Mr. Ralph looked confused, “Did what? You boys have been wonderful throughout this month.” Hunter felt his heart beating faster and faster, “Yeah, well, we did something very bad and we regret it. You remember the time we gave you a watch? Well, that watch was actually for hypnotizing people. Believe it or not, we hypnotized you. We saw that there was a football match on May 18th and that was the day of the circus so, we just wanted a way to cancel the game. We are really sorry for what we did and promise we will never ever do it again.” Chase was almost in tears, “Please forgive us, we were behaving like little kids and it was not worth it.” Mr. Ralph, still confused, replied, “What? You did all that just to go to a circus? Well, I forgive you boys but, you will be facing some consequences for your actions. Detention for 3 days sounds fair. Also, since I'm pretty sure nobody else in the school would believe your story, I'll put the reason as disrespecting and not putting enough effort in class. Let's just keep that between us alright?” Hunter and Chase nodded yes. Mr. Ralph looked at his watch, not the one that Hunter and Chase used on him, and said in a hurry, “Oh look at the time, you boys should be heading home now before your parents get worried.” So,the boys walked out of room and started heading home. Chase and Hunter began talking. “That was totally worth it Hunter! I'm so happy he forgave us.”, said Chase. Hunter agreed, “Yeah, we deserve the 3 day detention, I'm surprised he didn't give us a week.” The boys accepted their mistake and agreed to break the watch and throw it away. The 3 days of detention wasn't so bad because they actually wanted them to make up for doing something wrong. They ended up having the football match the following weekend. To conclude, Chase and Hunter, two young foolish boys, had made the decision to hypnotize their football coach so they could go to the Barlow's Great American Circus. After nearly ending his life, the boys were able to go to the magnificent circus, but later regretted their choices. To regain his clemency, Hunter and Chase admitted their actions to their coach. Although they were still punished, the boys were grateful that the coach forgave them. See, sometimes things you want in life won't always go your way. As they say, as one door closes another door opens. Who knows, maybe the next door to open will be much more worth the wait.
Might take a ton of convincing since if I were to make that, it would take 24 hours of writing. *clap clap clap*
This is nice, especially when there's a learning point being weaved into it Would love to read more of such stories from you So keep going!
