Hey guys, It’s been a while. A really, really long while since I’ve been on here. I honestly don’t even know what made me come back tonight. Maybe it’s the late hour, maybe it’s the fact that I haven’t slept, or maybe I just randomly started thinking about the past. One memory led to another, and before I knew it, I was thinking about all of this again. It’s crazy. We grew up. We signed off. We went our separate ways. Back then, none of us really thought about where life was going to take us. We were just kids playing Minecraft, staying up way too late, arguing over the dumbest things, laughing at things that probably weren’t even funny, making friends with complete strangers, and somehow turning a little Minecraft server into a huge part of our childhood. At the time, it was just a game. Just a server. Just something we logged onto after school. But looking back now, it was so much more than that. It was a place where a lot of us spent some of the most important years of our childhood. We met people there that we probably would have never met anywhere else. People from different countries, different backgrounds, different lives. Somehow we all ended up in the same place, running around a block game together. And now, years later, we're all completely different people. Some of us graduated. Some are still studying. Some started careers. Some moved to different countries. Some started families. Some got married. Some are still trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives. Some found themselves. Some are still searching. And some unfortunately aren't here anymore. People like Cl0se5. Rest in peace, man. It’s weird thinking about how someone can be such a normal part of your life one day and then, years later, you realize you'll never hear from them again. You don't expect that when you're young. You think everyone is going to be around forever. You think you'll always be able to log in, find the same people, and pick up right where you left off. But life doesn't work like that. People disappear. People grow apart. People change. And sometimes, people are taken from us far too early. I think that's one of the strangest parts about growing up. You slowly realize that the people you thought would always be there are only memories now. I still remember the stupid stuff. The arguments. The jokes. The random conversations that lasted until sunrise. The times we would be online for hours without even realizing how much time had passed. The ridiculous drama that felt like the end of the world at the time. The rivalries. The friendships. The random people who joined one day and somehow became part of everyone's lives. The people we couldn't stand. The people we couldn't wait to see online. The nights where nobody wanted to log off. The moments where we'd say "one more hour" and somehow it would be morning. It's funny how the things that seemed so insignificant back then are some of the things I remember the most now. I don't remember every homework assignment. I don't remember every normal day of school. I don't remember most of the ordinary days of my childhood. But I remember sitting in front of a screen with people I've never even met in real life, laughing until I couldn't breathe. I remember usernames. I remember voices. I remember personalities. I remember people who probably don't even remember me anymore. And that's okay. Because for a little while, we were all there together. Looking at the world now, it's honestly insane how much has changed. Our generation grew up alongside the internet. We watched everything change in real time. We went from being kids with basically no responsibilities to suddenly having bills, jobs, relationships, families, and entire lives to worry about. Sometimes I look at today's generation and think about how messed up everything can be. People get pulled into drugs, violence, bad influences, and all kinds of things so easily. And honestly, looking back, I'm kind of glad I "wasted" so much of my childhood playing this game. Because maybe it wasn't a waste. Maybe spending all those hours talking to people, and doing absolutely pointless things was actually one of the better things I could have done. At least I was having fun. At least I was making memories. At least I was somewhere safe, doing something that gave me happiness. And now I realize that those hours weren't wasted at all. They became memories. Some of the only memories from that time that I still carry with me. It's insane how something as small as a Minecraft server can leave such a permanent mark on someone. You'd think you'd forget it after a few years. You'd think the server would shut down, everyone would move on, and that would be the end of it. But here I am, years later, lying awake at night thinking about people I haven't spoken to in years and places that probably don't even exist anymore. That's the strange thing about nostalgia. You don't miss the game. You miss who you were when you played it. You miss being younger. You miss having fewer responsibilities. You miss not knowing how complicated life was going to become. You miss the people. You miss the feeling. You miss a version of yourself that you can never really go back to. And I think that's what hit me tonight. I'm not really sitting here wishing I could go back and play Minecraft again. I'm sitting here wishing I could go back for just one night and experience what it felt like to be that kid again. To log on and see all the familiar names. To have nothing to worry about. To know that tomorrow was just another day. But we can't go back. And maybe that's okay. Because we're supposed to move forward. And I personally have moved forward quite a lot. I found myself. I figured out what I wanted. And now I'm getting married soon. It's honestly crazy even typing that sentence. The same person who used to spend countless hours on a Minecraft server is now getting ready to start a completely new chapter of life. Somewhere along the way, that kid grew up. And I don't think I even noticed it happening. One day you're worrying about what someone said to you on a Minecraft server, and the next you're worrying about careers, relationships, family, the future, and everything that comes with being an adult. Time really doesn't wait for anyone. So if you're reading this and you remember me, thank you. And if you don't remember me at all, that's completely fine too. Maybe I was just some random username you saw once. Maybe we talked every day. Maybe we argued constantly. Maybe we were friends. Maybe we played together for years. Maybe we only crossed paths once. Whatever it was, I'm glad it happened. Because even the people who were only a small part of your life can sometimes leave a bigger impression than you realize. And if anyone from those days is still around, I genuinely hope you're doing well. I hope you're healthy. I hope you're happy. I hope you found what you were looking for. I hope you're surrounded by people who genuinely care about you. And if you're still trying to figure things out, that's okay too. Don't compare your chapter 5 to someone else's chapter 20. Everyone is moving at their own pace. And if you're going through something right now, whatever it is, I hope you make it through. There were probably people here years ago who thought their problems were the end of the world, and now those problems are nothing more than distant memories. That's something worth remembering. Whatever you're dealing with right now will eventually become part of your past too. Time keeps moving. You will change. Your life will change. Your circumstances will change. Things will get better, even if you can't see how yet. And to the people we lost along the way, I hope you're remembered. Not just by the people who knew you best, but by the little memories you left behind. A username. A joke. A conversation. A stupid argument. A random moment that someone remembers years later. Sometimes that's all we leave behind. But sometimes, that's enough. So yeah. I don't really know why I'm writing all of this at almost midnight when I should probably be sleeping. I guess I just wanted to say goodbye to a part of my childhood that I never really got to say goodbye to. We were kids. We had no idea how quickly those years would disappear. We thought we'd be here forever. We weren't. But I'm glad we were here at all. I'm glad I met you guys. I'm glad I spent those years doing something that, at the time, felt so ordinary. Because now I realize it wasn't ordinary. It was my childhood. And I'll always carry a piece of it with me. So wherever you are now, whoever you became, whatever you're doing with your life, I hope you're okay. And if you're reading this and wondering whether life is ever going to get better, just keep going. It will. Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe not next week. But life has a strange way of changing when you least expect it. One day you'll look back and realize how far you've come. Just like I'm doing right now. It's been a minute. We grew up. We moved on. We signed off. But for a little while, we were all here. And honestly? I'm glad I got to be part of it. Take care of yourselves, everyone. Stay safe. Be good to each other. And wherever life takes you from here, I hope it takes you somewhere you're happy. Maybe we'll never all meet again. Maybe we'll never log on together again. But somewhere in the back of my mind, I'll always remember those nights, those people, those ridiculous memories, and that little Minecraft server that somehow became a part of my life. Life will pass. People will change. Memories will fade. But some memories never completely disappear. This is one of mine. Goodnight, everyone. And thank you for the memories.
