Check your computer properties It should tell you the amount of ram your computer has. Half that now enter Mineshafter and click Edit profiles. Look for the box which says JVM arguments and tick that. Clear all that is written there and now copy the code on the first page.
@lolzzlol I tried it with mineshafter but still doesn't work it says Could not reserve enough space for 2097152KB object heap, the same thing as Team Extreme Launcher. :/ I guess no fps boost for me
You dont have java 64bit so you will not be able to apply over 2gb ram to minecraft. So you can only use 2gb code
Do not use Mods! I agree with this statement. Download Optifine This needs further clarification, many user tends to enable everything resulting in a worse than usual performance, I think I will detail the settings if I have time. Decrease your render Distance. The server automatically limits the render distance to 8 or 10 (Not really sure), so going any higher isn't going to harm the FPS, going lower will improve FPS but is going to negatively impact gameplay. Set your java to high priority: This is not true in 99% of the cases. Unless you have a very weak CPU or you have a ton of background tasks, a normal priority will do just as well. Allocate more RAM to Minecraft: Now this is also not true. Due to the continuous garbage collection done by Java, RAM usage don't normally exceed 600MB, hence making the extra 1.4GB (In case of 2GB reserve) useless. Allocating more RAM will improve texture loading, chunk loading (if very high amount of chunks but as I said.....). Overall, unless you are always tanking your RAM (which you can check by doing F3 in game) this is not really necessary. Also make it not higher than 2 GB unless you use tons of mod. Otherwise it's more than enough and will do more harm than good. Play in a smaller Screen. I agree with this statement. Additions: 1) Reduce lighting/redstone updates, builds like redstone and hopper will induce a lot of overhead and lag (even reduce FPS) 2) Use VBOs, proven to smooth out FPS and increase it by 10% 3) Use low quality texture pack. Default pack is good enough. The OCD pack is even better. 4) Don't use smoothed lighting, takes alot of processing power, although it will impact visual during gameplay. 5) Use fullscreen, if possible, to make sure the system prioritise the process. You can reduce the resolution with Optifine. 6) Reduce entity count. Their movement means updates and updates = lag. Edit 1: Xmx=[x]M Xms=[y]M The x is the value you want, y should be always smaller than x. This will make minecraft dynamically allocate more RAM and resources over time instead of just lagging out the system. Edit 2: You are standing in a flat world. A flat world is always going to improve FPS. Edit 3: 30 FPS is not 'not good'. Many of your monitors are capped to 30 FPS and Vsync does just that, capping it. The reason? Screen tearing (Google it). Because when the frames update randomly, there's a high chance that it doesn't update completely resulting in a very awkward and painful gameplay. Edit 4: Optifine ALWAYS need adjustment. Simply installing optifine is going to kill your FPS, because they smooth it out. The result is a smoother, less jaggy gamplay but lower FPS. Edit 5: VERY IMPORTANT TO LAPTOP USERS. Make sure you are not using integrated GPU (Intel HD Graphics) but instead the built in graphic card (Nvidia) This is the major cause of concern for laptop users 99% of the time. AMD user is less likely to suffer from this but it's good that you reverify it.
You probably wrote it wrong Copy and paste code again and use the right code which applies to you. Note: If you do not have 64bit Java, you cannot use over 2gb ram
I'm afraid you won't be able to increase the allocated memory for minecraft with that amount of ram :3 Really you should only allocate more ram if you have over 8 GB of ram installed. I have 12 GB installed and allocated 4 GB and minecraft never uses above 1 GB lol. My max fps was like 127, and I use mods like armor hud etc.
I always use optifine and my FPS always like 130 but when I'm lagging hard its still 70-90 lol but my ping.. It always being like my lowest : 260ms , my most : about 1500ms.
