Sup. Since yesterday, Defender's viability has dramatically decreased, due to changes made. And since there's lots of the issues I have found yet, they deserve a single thread. All of these issues are (no, not all) related to Defender kit. #1 Defender still doesn't get any bonus XP - Self explanatory. Before I keep going with issues, I'll give you a link to the video full of evidence of various problems: #2 Landmines can't be built near nexus (timestamp 0:05) - Like, isn't Defender all about standing near Nexus and setting traps around it? #3 Landmines can't be build on Stairs/slabs/fences (timestamp 0:14) - Yes, I've reported it before as a bug, but I did NOT expect to completely remove this ability, because most maps are made of stairs and slabs as decoration, which prevents mines from being viable (cuz you can't cover certain key spots enemies can otherwise use). Can it please be reverted? It gives more benefits despite the bug. #4 Defender's Stance Change ability rapidly switches when standing on a landmine (timestamp 0:58) - Well, let's just say the abilities of each kit get seisures when stepping on landmines. It's not a critical bug, but it still exists, just letting you know. #5 Landmines are way too visible on other wood plank types (timestamp 1:39) - This is more of a suggestion than a bug report, but I won't be splitting it just for one minor suggestion. Could landmine ability detect the block type (like the types of wood, or even stone-like blocks) underneath it and change to it's according type (e.x. spruce wood type changes the landmine into spruce wooden pressure plate, stone brick changes the landmine into a stone pressure plate, etc)? #6 Swappers are just... stupid (timestamp 1:50) - It's not really defender related, but meanwhile when recording these bugs, I just got to record a perfect example of why Swapper is the most cheesy kit to attack Nexuses with. Seriously, look at how easy it is to damage a Nexus with a Swapper involved.
to be fair, you are right in saying that land mines are quite glitchy in Game. funny thing is, i find it the opposite (in terms of how useful defender is.) I was p3/4 diamond rushing on essixdam anni-2 i think and i was gonna op end with regen 1 and fire res 1 pots however, when i went into the enemy base, I got clapped within 5 seconds because defender did 2 hearts of "true damage" i didnt know what this meant until someone told me that it's damage that completely ignored armour. Oh well. defender is one of those kits that need a nerf and a buff at the same time. Defender is a good kit, it's just a debateable kit
How about increase the damage by 2.5x (2 landmines vs 1 armorless invis), but make it not true? Keep in mind though that if Landmines get a change like this, Defender as a whole will completely lose viability while defending from heavily armored foes, due to how weak Strength currently is.
This stance would be even less useful than the current one. It's not Defender's stance that needs buffing, it's Strength effect itself.
As someone who uses defender. The seizure thing what happens when you stand on a pressure plate is ****
actually i would rather have the traps simply changed from the pressure plate to a cobweb. ofc not insta break but maybe like break 3 times to destroy the trap
Not sure about that one tbh, because strings can be placed on top of each other, which could be heavily exploitable (e.x. make a wall of traps nobody could pass through). I side with making each trap do enough damage to kill a leather armoured player with just 2 mines, but change the damage to NORMAL instead of TRUE. After that balance the Strength effect properly yet, and it should be all good and shiny. I also have a way to prevent farming, but I'll get into that later, once I collect all the issues, arguments and solutions.
That'd actually be much nicer. It'd be good for both the farmer (because they won't get 6 shotted regardless of their armour) and for the players (because the farmer is stuck in cobweb).
