Hello community, A lot of time has passed since I've last decided to create a post discussing staff members, and interactions between staff and regular members. As some of you might/might not know, I've came back to GC 2 months ago, and I've been positively surprised with the advances the community has made, staff members especially. But as always, there's always space for improvement. Ever since I've came back, I've noticed that there's still some hostility between some staff members and members. There has been a lot of members accusing staff members of doing their job unrightfully, and while the most of those accusations have been proven false, some that might be real are often not taken seriously due to the majority of the staff reports being proven false. In order to make members feel heard, I've decided to open up this suggestion post. Many members believe that if they speak up against/for certain staff, that they'll be punished. That isn't and will never be correct. But, I honestly don't believe that the In Game chat is a place for certain accusations to be made, since it causes unnecessary drama, and if a player keeps arguing he will of course get muted. I believe that there should be a separate forum section which allows players to post staff feedback/reports. Now, inside of there, players should be allowed to both compliment staff and criticize staff, and while the compliments could be left for the public eye, I believe that the reports should be hidden and accessible by only the H-A of the reported staff and the higher ranked players (aXed). And in case a player reports a H-A, all H-A+ Should be able to view it, so that they can leave their feedback on the situation. This could prevent more drama from occuring, and improve the relations between staff/members. Both parties should be objective and think logically. For players: Before deciding to report a staff member, please re-read your report, think carefully and objectively if what the staff member has done is rule-breaking, and after analyzing it, make a final decision. We should all remember, we are all here together, and we have the same goal, and that's for GC to become an even better place. It shouldn't be Staff members vs Members, It should be us vs the issue. #... Vojkea out
First thing arguing is no where in the rules as a mute @Vojkea so if u guys mute its not a correct mute there has to be a written proper rule . Its just stupid to mute someone for arguing which in many cases is players trying to speak up and trusting staff is really hard now so i would advise if only aXed could see it i would only trust vojkea with it apart from that. Also compliments and the negatives both should be naked to the public eye its how every system works.
The issues with the complaints being allowed to the public is that most of them might be subjective, here's an example: Staff A muted Player A for breaking a certain rule, player A is mad and wants revenge, he goes on there and makes up something or simply throws insults without any clear evidence. Even if that post gets removed, It could lead to the that staff member feeling demotivated and publicly insulted, both if the report was incorrect/correct. While the compliments might be subjective, they could still motivate staff, and make them feel like they're doing a good job, and it's always good to have some positive feedback from the members.
I see what you mean by this threat and I agree with you 100% it should never be a member vs staff or a staff vs member so I agree with you on that statement and if a member is about to report a staff member they should always provide evidence to go with the report such as a screenshot other than that I agree with your statement Vojkea
I agree with this post but as highlighted above some players may decide to abuse the system if they are punished for some reason or another. As such it would be very important that it only be accessible to H-A and above as well as there should be punitive measures in place for those who decide to abuse this form of feedback. Furthermore, there should be a guideline in which these matters are handled in order to prevent a staff member to feel victimized or demoralized for simply doing their job. After all we are all simply human and are all susceptible to mistakes in our actions. Hopefully something good can be formulated and more members can contribute some ideas. +1 from me.
I completely agree with all of this. I hope it gets added. Best of luck & I hope it gets added. <3 Much respect. :3
Definitely agree with you. Taking shade in the false accusations by (some!) members on staff, some staff members abuse their powers and target players they dislike. Well atleast this was the case when I used to play. I do not play anymore (I might come back for some time in June). It's good to see you back, and also congratulations on becoming an Admin on the server. Happy to see this server slowly get back on it's feet again.
