I'm re-introducing a concept for a game-mode that Rabascm and I had created back in the day. We had done a decent amount of work refining and creating the concept before his sudden departure. The project was essentially shutdown and has existed only in concept since. I would like to change that. A post inspired me to finally bring this project out of the darkness in order to create a game-mode that would be unique to GuildCraft. The idea of the game-mode is to essentially create a game-mode that combines popular aspects of Skyblock, Prison, Creative, and Survival. Concept HouseParty will be a hybrid game mode, based on aspects of various game modes. It takes concepts from Prison, Survival, SkyBlock, and Creative to create a unique experience unlike any other. Economy Money and its place in this game mode: Money functions similar to money in Prison, Survival, and SkyBlock. Users can buy or sell items in the auction house (/ah). Rank-ups Purchase and sell plots, either from users or as blank plots of land Rank-ups Rank-ups function very similarly to Prison’s rank-ups. Users pay money to get the next rank. Doing so allows them to gain various permissions. Prison has A, B, C, D, etc, while this would have something akin to Farmer, Enchanter, Painter, Knight, etc. Specific rank-ups would give users access to bigger plots, new areas (like a PvP area for Knight, a warp for free wood(???), etc.), and new abilities (like the ability to enchant items). Plots The idea behind a plot is rather similar to SkyBlock, Survival, and Creative, albeit with some differences. Plots are similar to Creative’s, but function like plots in SkyBlock and Survival. Plots also have unique functions in HouseParty. A plot is your source for income. You receive a percentage of the value of your plots every 15 minutes. For example, a plot valued at $50,000 might receive $500 income every 15 minutes (aka “rent” money) from just owning the plot. Plot value is calculated dynamically based on the value of its contents. Suburb Plot (18x18) – A small plot intended for a small building. Users are limited to 4 of these plots. No level requirement. Cost: $50,000 City Plot (25x25) – A somewhat larger plot intended for larger buildings. Users are limited to 2 of these plots. Level requirement (TBD). Cost: $200,000 Corporate Plot (36x36) – Intended for larger buildings. Users are limited to 2 of these plots. Level Requirement (TBD). Cost: $750,000 Industrial Plot (50x50) – Intended for huge buildings and industrial activities. For example, furnaces could be restricted to this type of plot. Users are limited to one of these plots. Requires a high user level. Farming Plot (18x18) – Farming is restricted to these plots. Requirement (TBD). Users are limited to 1 of these plots. Instead of earning income a user will have to pay taxes on this plot. Cost (Currently): $200,000 Spawner Plot (25x25) – Spawners are restricted to these plots. Level Requirement TBD. Users are limited to one plot. Instead of earning income users will have to pay tax for the plot. Cost: $300,000 Plot Economy Users can buy and sell their plots to other users. All blocks will remain if they sell their plot to another user. Users can sell their plots for whatever value they desire. Think of it as real estate. Rent – Every 15 minutes, users receive a rent fund depending the number, types of plots they own, and the value of their plots. Tax – Every 15 minutes, users must pay a small tax fund on their plot. Ranks, farming, etc. and its effect on gameplay. Farming provides another method to obtain income in the game. Users cannot add other users to their plots. This is to prevent eco-boosting another player. Low level users will not be able to use crafting tables, enchantment tables, etc. Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Currently gc has no new game modes aside from Bedwars which is pretty unsuccessful. Anything new to the server will be welcome. Hmm what determines the value of a plot? The amount of expensive stuff it has ? That will encourage people to make plots that are just spammed with diamond/emerald blocks. Also I think people starting with a farming plot is more logical but it's just an opinion
Will there be crate keys and anything like that? Also is this a friendly gamemode [ Skyblock, Survival ] or a pvp gamemode [ Factions ]
Looks interestesting, despite being in its early stages. Personally, I like the idea of appealing to all sorts of players, and the concept of this gamemode fits that. Would love to see this on GC, and it would be unique as you said. Feel free to count me in, if you need players for testing in the future!
There would be an in-game rank (like Prison) where you can unlock PvP (in theory). It would probably be a somewhat early rank to unlock if the level order is static, or it would be cheap to unlock if the order is flexible. Its always possible that it could be easy to obtain early/at the beginning. Whoever makes this will have flexibility in that (I don't know if I will make this or another dev will). Its more akin to Survival than Factions. Presumably there could/would be crate keys. Its pretty flexible in regards to monetization, although I'd prefer the balance to not be ruined by P2W. I would love to see this. I like how progressive it is which also makes servers like prison addictive. It's a unique gamemode that seems quite fun. Now days the only new players that a server gets is from the creativity that they have to offer. If done properly, I could see this as being a very successful option for this server.
Many people said that the game is progressive which makes it very fun. I agree with that, but at the same time, it's hard for me to believe that this "mode" will be added since its a combination of 3 other modes. I still did vote "Hell yeah" since I'm interested to see if your idea will be a real game-mode in the future, and how good it will be if it will be added. ps. this is just my opinion, dont scream at me pls
What can players exactly do, the only thing you explained was the plot renting and the prison mines but what about everything else, how does it take concepts from Creative and Skyblock. Would there be like a survival world as well or is it just mines and plots?
Well, really whoever decides to make this will have a fair degree of latitude in this regard. I say it’s like Creative because it has plots and one of the focuses of the game mode could/would be creating and selling houses. That’s one of several possible things you could do for money. I would say it relates to SkyBlock in a similar type of way, but also with the farming and spawner plots for example. What I mean by they have a lot of latitude is, is that they can implement these ideas in pretty broad ways. For example, whoever makes this could make it with just mines and plots (although that wouldn’t be as good as it could be). Or they could make it with classes/jobs with daily salaries, with two possible jobs being house flipping and mining. Its a pretty broad idea in that regard. They could make it with a survival world, it’s really up to whoever makes it and what the community would want from the mode.
