For me eminem>new rappers this section was getting too boring, here a thread for all ya post farmers
Tbh i don't know what is the point of him making diss tracks since everyone knows that he is the best rapper alive. Also the numbers are talking for him and even if the mumble rap is growing more and more he will remain no1. Regarding to his album, it is fire and my fav song is The Ringer.
Kamikaze was a good album, personally I only like the first half. I think some of it was hindered by bad production (like Good Guy, Venom, etc) and some of it by bad hooks (Nice Guy, Not Alike (hook was a cringy reference to Migos, delivery was terrible, concept was interesting)). Seems like the album kind of falls apart after Not Alike. I think the album was at its best when there were not really hooks. The Ringer was really good, Lucky You was amazing (a classic for sure), Greatest was great except for the hook which was meh, and Not Alike was great except for the hook (which was cringy). Since he will most likely come out with another album, I think he needs to focus on dropping hooks altogether. At this point in time, he does better without hooks ruining the vibe of an otherwise good song. I like what he did with this album, calling out all the trash copycats nowadays, finally someone was able to convey what I was thinking about the modern day rap scene. There are great artists nowadays, but they are few and far between compared to the unoriginal mumblers. Some of my favorites nowadays are Kendrick Lamar (my favorite right now) and BROCKHAMPTON. I think Kendrick is the only real hope we have for the future of hip-hop/rap. As for MGK’s diss, it was pretty weak, the hook was especially wack (auto-tuned to high hell, “we can talk about it”). I certainly respect him for having the courage to come at Eminem with a diss, but I think it was a half-hearted effort. It did have moments were I was like “OHHHH” (especially when he said the real Slim Shady can’t stand up, that was great). The production for the track was fantastic (I would love an instrumental). Go on Genius and read the lyrics for it, the “diss” was basically this: - Your beard is weird. - You yell at the mic. - You are the greatest. - You are a nerd, you read dictionaries. - Your old. - Your short. - Your angry. People calling it fire most likely didn’t listen to the lyrics.
