»[Factions] March 2018 Event Details!

Hello fellow faction players!

Join us on Saturday, March 17 at 9:00 CET // 3:00 EST as an entrance to a new, treasure-filled world is opened to the public! As this new domain is opened, a new kit will become available to everyone. Included in this kit is what we like to call the "Shovel of Luck", a rather powerful and extremely rare shovel that can go through sand like butter! This kit will be available to use for 3 hours after the start time of the event and will be obtainable every 15 minutes.

What about the actual event, what is it?
The event itself is a rather straight-forward one, designed to allow everyone to be a winner. In this new desert domain, you will need to search through the sand in search of chests. Using either your own shovels or the "Shovel of Luck", you need to search through a 400x400 area of a sandy desert in an attempt to find rare and exclusive loot.

What kind of loot are we talking?
Aside from more obvious loot, such as Protection 4 pieces and gapples, we will be including some powerful gear that is not even obtainable outside of this event. We are talking things like Looting 4 swords (and even one Looting 5 sword) and cosmetic items (like specially renamed God Apples, and stuff like what I like to call the Banana-on-a-stick).

FAQ:
Will PvP be enabled in this area?
Not for this specific event. The intent is to allow everyone to win, including new players who have never played here before. The intention is to do a similar event in the future with PvP enabled, so you can look forward to that. ;3

Can I use outside items?
Yes, for the most part. There are some items that are explicitly banned from the event, however. Trench Picks are banned from this event in order to prevent A) the accidental destruction of items/loot chests and B) sheer force to get through the sand. Other items that will be banned include: Spawn Eggs (yes, this includes Creeper Eggs), TNT, and any other item that will provide an unfair advantage (or ruin the game-play for other players). Usage of these items will result in a 4 day ban with no unban tier (that means you can't buy an unban).

Aren't some of these items overpowered?
Yes and no. Of course, looting 5 is a very powerful enchant. The plan is to hand these powerful, exclusive items out in very limited quantity (i.e. there will only be one looting 5 sword). So yeah, they will be very powerful, but on the other hand they will be so rare that game-play will be near unaffected for a huge majority of the players.

Can I benefit from this event even if I don't get anything?
Yes. One of the neat things about this event is /kit event. You can use this kit every 15 minutes to obtain a powerful shovel that you can continue to use after the event. All you have to do is /kit event to receive the item.

Can I get banned for certain actions during this event?
Yes. Any action that ruins the game-play for others will result in a 4 day ban with no unban tier (unless it warrants a higher time). X-Rayers will be banned for their usual 7 days + an addition 4 days, with no unban tier. Anyone caught using other cheats or using banned items will be banned. These bans will be handed out at our discretion and as necessary.
