Last time they did a mass unban it was a nightmare, gl with that one. You remember when kriscapelle and xandervanv were unbanned on top of countless other people? They started duping as soon as they were unbanned. That's exactly why a mass unban won't and shouldn't occur. Because these guys will just continue what they started when they were banned. If they were banned for toxicity, then they will be toxic when they come back. Until the mass unban nightmare, I actually was supportive of mass unbanning, but now I see the problems with it. Other than that, I don't really have an opinion on your other stuff.

You really wanna know why Factions died?

When I joined Factions in June 2015, I almost completely new to the game mode. The only other time I spent playing Minecraft was in 2012 playing by myself in Survival. When I joined, everything was stable- there were big factions, medium factions, and smaller factions. The hierarchy was stable, the rewards fun, the community tight and bonded. This is what makes a server run- a server is like a well-oiled machine. Without proper maintenance and the fuel to power the engine, the machine ceases to operate. In June 2015, everything was there. The lust for competition, the thirst for power, the desire to become better than anyone else.

Now we ask, "Well JStorm, why was this the case?"

This is because the resources were in place. The server didn't put the wants of the elite above the many. It didn't tolerate any bullshit. To become successful in the game, you had to work for it. I worked for it (for the most part) and that's how I became part of the establishment. If you can build yourself into a formidable enemy, you can dominate the server- and that's what people want. To succeed, and to enjoy the game. Who would want to stay on a dead server?

Nowadays, these factors are gone. The ecosystem of Factions has been corrupted by normies, people who pay to win, and a lack of the community overall. The OGs from the old GuildCraft are gone. These are the elite that made the server worth playing on- there was competition, diversity, originality, and a sense of pride for the server. But how can we fix it?


Our server is in serious trouble. We don't have fun anymore. We used to have fun, but we don't have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let's say, Mineplex in terms of user satisfaction? They kill us.

When did we beat Hypixel at anything? They treat their players like real people, and what do we do? When was the last time you saw an OG in Factions? It doesn't exist, folks. They beat us all the time.

When do we beat Cosmic at diversity? They're laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. But they're killing us economically.

GuildCraft has become a dumping ground for normies, people who pay to win, and just toxicity overall.

When other cracked servers send their people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing toxicity. They're bringing stupidity. They're annoying. And some, I assume, are good people.


But I speak to admins and they tell us what we're getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They're sending us not the right people.


I hear so much talk about the fact that we should just add more features. "Let's add more kits. Let's add yadda yadda yadda". No. This is not what the server needs- the server needs a renewed sense of pride. The server needs the thrill and competition that it used to have. The server has become a boring, monotonous, lackluster server with no sense of achievement.

And now you're wondering, how are we going to do this?

We need to reach out to those whom powered the server. We need to bring them back. We mustn't unban those who were fairly banned- they will reach out to us when they want to apologize. We need to convince them that GuildCraft has changed for the better.

We need to scale back a little bit- we need a comfortable spawn, we need easier access to iron golem spawners. This will create revenue and move the cash around in the economy. Just like a real economy, without the people who are motivated to work (jobs), the economy doesn't work. If we provide access to jobs (afking at spawners), people are automatically inclined to stay on the server.

The server needs to adopt capitalism. You have to work to make money, and you will eventually progress. This can be done by allowing people to sell items commonly found in the wilderness.

We need to bring back the gambling feature. This was so thrilling, and the risk was either worth it or not. This feature also keeps the cash flow moving smoothly.

The map needs to be expanded. There need to be findable treasures. We need to offer more incentive to those who support us- we need a YouTube channel, we need advertisements, we need revenue.

This sounds like a lot, doesn't it? You're probably wondering, how does axed or melon have the time, energy and resources to implement this?

It isn't hard at all. Take a look at how Factions was in the summer of 2015. All you need to do is go back to it.

 

The problem with the server is that staff aren't taking much interest in what happens in the server

Even the players are to blame here ,when I jump down to pvp (I was in godlike) 4 other members jump down to help me then 2 other people jump again from allies this just grows and when u start 1v1ing it turns out to be 5v1 and the player just runs to a trap or his pvpbase ....it's ded

i do agree with you but you guys can add something called "outpost" if you dont know what is an outpost its a 24h koth And its a faction's koth not a 1guy koth and You can capture the outpost faster by having more faction members standing on the cap point.
if you with the outpost you get some awesome rewards!

nah the thing that gonna work is if you make it randomized and not 1 chest! 20chests randomized on the warezone ofc the rewards not gonna be the same but like this the newbies more likely to get atleast 1 or 2

I do agree with you but at some points people grow up right? so i think most of em are mature now and wont hack or be toxic and trust me even the staff team is toxic so i think who ever got banned for toxicity (idk how to write that) should have a second chance.

I doubt gc is ever gonna change again. Like many others, I already gave my opinion of what GC needs to change after I got banned because I had enough of this server. I really would love to come back to Guildcraft (which I could since many people offered to pay my unban) but right now it's a dead server full of noobs that needs change. I would actualy like to help GC in some way, but I don't know if there is any.

There should be ranks in which you dont necessarily have to pay money beacause some people can afford even donator ranks, like me........ eh nvm and XRAY hackas! U make a IMPOSSIBLY defended base, go to sleep and wake up in a raided base.Wot.And if you are a normal member ranked person u never get any attention or any importance.y u do dis.. There should be more events for normal members as well, like KOTh is DOMINATED[yes dominated] by top factions.And the nether portal thingy.Fix it.

As I was scrolling through GuildCraft forums looking for some spicy memes I came across this. Overall I'm gonna rant because it is late and I just wanna say my part because I want to see how many people actually listen or agree or some stuff. I mean its the internet no one cares. But hey Ima do it :^).

1. Nobody really gives two shits about everyone else's opinion its minecraft it isn't life or death you'll find another game. (IRONY I'M GIVING MY OPINION BONELESS PIZZA)

2. I can't believe everyone is still trying to change GuildCraft when its been made cleared no one really pays attention. But you know what they do pay attention? People ranting about their server because they are a staff member which holds power against other people. I'm pretty sure that if they were not staff they wouldn't even play here. No offense to the staff members that actually do but its true.

3. The "Lack of Staff" is the wrong use to describe the current problem for staff members. Its the lack of activity. I've seen staff go online for a certain period on time afking or hidden, and then they log off. It's the only way to ensure that they stay staff but they don't spend actual time on it.

4. "Bring Back OG players" Thats not gonna happen they probably already have summer jobs you know, nobody got the time to go balls deep into this type of game again I mean we got Rust, Player Unknown BattleGrounds, I mean come on get steam, get modern.

5. "Factions" Factions overall is not that entertaining anymore. It takes way to much time to even begin to start off decent, base building, grinding, pvping, countless hours with no backdoor if you fail. Especially if your trying to get new players to join, experienced ones just destroy them, cutting their lack of fun eventually making them naked for eternity, eventually making them quit. People want quick fast games. An example is Hypixel, and an example of one of their games is Bed wars. Fun and easy easy, work with other players that are willing to work with you (sometimes) and with one goal, destroy the other teams bed. Bada bing bada boom get a sword get some iron resource build a bridge and let the rivalry begin. You lose? No problem a you can start a new round like nothing ever happened.

6. Countless ideas proposed to actually make these sub-servers better, but no one had the knowledge or skill, and no one had the time to include them.

7. "Mass Unban" Man If I banned unfairly I would of already stopped playing.

8. "Diversity with Factions" Look it was pretty fun in the old days you know I guess I mean I've never even been around the 2013 man like yo I was fiddling my fingers on CSGO or League of Legends at the time man. But gathering my intense research of people ranting of this type of problem I came up with this. Old Days were basically like separate kingdoms with factions you know no one knew each other it was pretty fun, rivalry was pretty lit you know everyone was dandy and nice. But you see as time passed by everyone picked a side. No one wants to be in a small noob faction because your gonna get destroyed. Everyone became these nations of factions, with time and getting to know other players it became this because everyone is aiming to be the best. More powerful factions would destroy the smaller/weaker one and absorb them you know. Leaving only a handful of factions left to actually compete with each other. I mean what type of small faction can actually rival a large one. Unless there p2w then your fucked man I dont know.

9. Hackers. Holy shit I swear to GOD you guys need to like fucking update GC factions with some better detection man like what. And if it is update, then holy what omg minecraft is screwed.

10. "Head-Admins" Ima be real the decent head admin I actually know is Melon333 thank god, Tenderman with his broken english holy shit I needed to shoot myself. There were pretty some dank ass non-head admin staff there you know you know, GraceLea9, BlakTap, gucci' staff. But uh, YOU DUMB OTHER HEAD ADMIN THOTS LOOK AT THE DAMN APPLICATIONS OH MY LORD PERSONAL EXPERIENCE MY APPLICATION BE WAITING 8 MONTHS BOI I WROTE A DAMN JOB APPLICATION. (I probably killed my chances of being a staff but boi)

11. Remember when KingCake accepted some dudes application whos never been in his sub-server before in skyblock or whatever subserver that was? Yeah, no randy staff I swear to GOD they be acting like "Well uh nibba I'm staff so now Ive been here longer then you".

12. Reset at the 14th!!! Oh whoops we couldnt finish some stuff delayed sorry, not sorry.

13. "Best pvpers" This is what gets people toxic, along with raiding. Best pvpers oh my lord, its just clicking, clicking really fast and moving left to right. I mean come on skills in minecraft? Oh hell no you better get some jesus no one got to learn how to pvp in a game I just need god apples and im godo fam.

14. Overall I paid cash on this server, Ima keep staying on it I ain't letting my money go to waste, I'll wait til' this dies down you know.

Ran out of ideas this my rant, I don't know you know hopefully it gets buried under these comments.
